About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

lots of high grass everywhere. Fairways were wet and the ball was hard to find.

Lots of high grass and course needs mowing. Greens where ok. Once the weather gets better and the course dries out. The course should be in great shape.
Course recommendations
Course is muddy because of rains but still in playable condition. Greens are fast and in good and soft condition
Hidden gem in the Oakland Hills
This course has a great driving range..the par 3 could use a little love..but the main course is pretty well maintained now that it has rained a bit, it’s nice and green but the greens play very fast so shorten up that put stroke..the clubhouse has great snack options but they’re a little overpriced..the views of the Bay Area are very substantial and there is plenty of wildlife out..all in all had a great day here

due to all the rain the course was still very wet . Had to use an extra club length or two on every shot. should really be nice condtions when it drys out.
Close to home
The course is in much better condition than it was. Up and down hills can get tiring. A nice 18.
5 hours and no marshall to check pace of play
I made a misatke by trying to play this course on the Winter Solstice -- the shortest daylight day of the year.
Fun Course
If you like hills and enjoy challenging golf, give this a try. The uphills are a two-club rise and the fairways are long. Recommend giving it a try if you’ve never been there.

A fun course. Room for error on most holes. The greens were pretty much all in good condition.
