About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Cahllenging course at fair price
Some holes are quite challenging. Well maintaied fairway and greens. Reasonable price in the afternoon and for hotdeals on Golfnow.
I love this course
Chabot is one of my favorite golf courses to play at. I live very close and it is a perfect price for 18 holes. The course is in excellent condition and the bbq on the top of the hill is so very good. I even play the executive course sometimes and that is a great course to practice your shot game. I highly recommend this course.

Dew in the Morning
First early tee time for me and won’t be last. Hole 1 often times gives groups a little challenge to get up and going and being we tee’d off at 6:20 there was very little time or coffee to get us moving faster. Pace of play was fair all morning only having to wait for the group ahead of us ever so often. Lake Chabot’s hilly layout is it’s primary hazard that allows you the ability to nearly hit every club in your bag. If you love long Drives this is the place for you. Greens were surprisingly slower today than last week but will chalk that up to the morning dew.

Fubn course
Lake Chabot is a fun course with many challenging holes that are not too difficult. The 18th hole is a par 6 which I love.There are lots of steep holes so we take a cart.

What a great day golfing with three friends.
The course was in very nice shape along with a nice pace of play.
Be sure to be hungry for the snack shack after the 4th green, Carlotta who works there is a real breath of fresh air and she will make you feel very appreciated.
Keep the ball left off of the tee on six.

Incredibly Slow
I’ve been here several times, and probably won’t ever come back. Every time I’ve played here, the course has been so congested that the pace of play is excruciatingly slow. I’ve never even finished more than 9 holes here because it just takes so long. I know it’s the Bay Area and courses are often crowded, but it’s beyond frustrating to pay for 18 holes, and only play 9 or less over 3 hours.

Carts sharing keys with other carts
First time ever that we’ve seen golf carts with no keys of its own. People have to wait for the keys from other carts arriving from their finished rounds to use. We’ve already teed off and still have to wait for our cart keys. Simple solution… get those keys duplicated.
