Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

course was in excellent condition considering all the rain this past season.
Beautiful, but not for beginners
Beautiful coarse but lots of elevation changes. You are severely punished for not hitting fairway. Not the best for beginner golfers.

The course is getting better and better. still some high ruff and greens were a little bumpy.
Return or not return. May be time for new management.
This was my third time playing the course and this time it was awful. Absolutely awful! Terrible course conditions. Even when you hit good shots in the fairway, it was difficult to find your ball in the grass debris left on the course and long grass fairways. If you hit it in the rough, forget it - lost ball. I reached out to course management and no response. Very disappointing. The first time I played it was fun and not bad for the price, but this time honestly - the worst course conditions I've ever seen. I should have just picked up and left.

Lots of high grass and course needs mowing. Greens where ok. Once the weather gets better and the course dries out. The course should be in great shape.
Course recommendations
Course is muddy because of rains but still in playable condition. Greens are fast and in good and soft condition
Hidden gem in the Oakland Hills
This course has a great driving range..the par 3 could use a little love..but the main course is pretty well maintained now that it has rained a bit, it’s nice and green but the greens play very fast so shorten up that put stroke..the clubhouse has great snack options but they’re a little overpriced..the views of the Bay Area are very substantial and there is plenty of wildlife out..all in all had a great day here
