About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Play the right Tees
Group of 3 young men played from the blues. One of them drove with an iron, because he could hit his woods. The other two were much better or consistent enough to be hitting from the Blues. To make matter worse they would reload at almost all holes, hitting several balls even while we watched. Made for a painful 5 hr round. No marshal in sight to push them on or set them straight.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Poor conditions
Tee boxes are the worst, not one even lie and divots everywhere. The fairways are just as bad. Slow play with bad golfers.

Beautiful & Challenging
Great course and great staff! The concessions hut was wonderful! The lady there is a gem and the food is great (burger, hot links, etc). I will definitely be back before I join the exodus out of CA to TX.

Nice time
First time playing, early morning in the Oakland Hills so it was really wet. But the pace of play was great, course was fun. It’s in pretty good condition and the downhill tee shots are a blast. Par 6 hole is a beast.

Please stop allowing 5-somes!
Course is in very reasonable condition for the price point. Such a beautiful location in the hills above Oakland's Lake Chabot. Some holes feature panoramic views of the Bay & SF skyline.
The course is not hard, aside from being very hilly, with uneven lies a major feature. All the Par 5s & the unique Par 6 18th are reachable, to provide ample opportunities for Birdie or even Eagle for better players (had my putt for Eagle 4 on the 18th lip out!)
My complaint is the 5-some ahead of us who caused us to wait on every hole. They were behind pace to the group ahead of them, and never hustled to the next tee, chatting away. Never saw a Marshall once! Not cool!

course conditions
The course was in good shape and is always improving. The greens were slower than usual and more ruff areas that need to be mowed.

Good course and great value
The greens were in excellent condition, the fairways were in good condition. The pace of play was outstanding, no waiting, played 18 holes in under 4 hours. Love this course and the par 6 is just a lot of fun.
