About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Not the best experience...
Really difficult to find or see the green from the tee, fairway was often too hilly, green was too soft. Maybe a challenging course for others who like that sort of thing,but wasn't for me.

course conditions
the course conditions were fair. Lotsl of highh grass and watered to much. Pace of play was slow.

very fun course
Lake Chabot is a fun course. It has many interesting holes and lots of hills.
the 18th hole is a par 6 which I love.
The 9th hole is a par 3 where you can't see the flag but it is doable.
THe only problem was the pace of play was very bad.

Challenge Chabot
I have golfed this course for several years and lately it is quite evident that there is an investment in making this a great course. The fairways were neatly cut the greens well manicured. Although a short course for many of today’s long ball hitters it is a challenge with it’s down hill up hill fairways. There are several unique and tester holes such as #9, my favorite. The views of San Francisco and Oakland are breath taking. So if you’re in the area and up for a great round of challenging golf, challenge Lake Chabot GC. You want regret it!

Not your usual course
Came to play this course after several year. The course condition is average, not bad consider the green fee, The pace was slow, some of due to two other I played with taking too much time finding balls. Course is hilly, some of holes required very accurate tee shot. Not a usual course for weekend golfer.
