About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Not your usual course
Came to play this course after several year. The course condition is average, not bad consider the green fee, The pace was slow, some of due to two other I played with taking too much time finding balls. Course is hilly, some of holes required very accurate tee shot. Not a usual course for weekend golfer.

Horrible drainage and no Marshalls
I will NEVER play this course during the winter. Drainage is horrible. We could find NUMEROUS balls that should not have been “lost”. Rough so thick and wet that balls were getting plugged and LOST.
To top it off there was a 3 some in front of our 4 some. The pace was slow for a 3 some. Then we realized the 2 guys were playing at the BLUE tees and had no business playing there. They also didn’t know golf etiquette and the player who hit the ball further was hitting his ball and the player behind was waiting for him. This was an ongoing thing witn these 2 guys.
Sad part is that there was no Marshall (at least that day) to remedy that situation.

Unplayable on 12/31/21
The course was so water logged that it was unplayable! You had to spend more time trying to figure out how to get to the ball and back to the cart than hitting the ball if you could find it in the mud and slop.
I’m upset that this was not mentioned when our round started.
This course is beautiful to play in the non winter months but because of the amount of rain we’ve had recently I’ve never seen it in such poor condition.
After our very frustrating 9 of 18 holes I stopped at the pro shop to see if we could get a rain check and they wouldn’t give that to us because we had paid our green fees to Golf Now. I can see in other reviews that other people were unhappy with the golf course conditions as well. I’d like a rain check! Can the golf course make good on their reply to my message and make me smile, please?

fun course
I feel Lake Chabot is a fun course that is somewhat challenging. It has a par 6 which I love and lots of hills. It is one of the few courses I always take a cart as the hills are very steep and plentiful

Great time
Carlotta’s burgers are fresh to death. Looooong Par 3’s. Fairways resemble a well maintained public park lawn area but some really fun holes. It’s December so it was pretty green but not sure I would play there in the summer.

lake chabot is a fun course with beautiful views, good rates good service. It is side hill up and down which is challenging but it is wide. A lot of fun driving holes. They have a nice bbq place on the third hole. The lady is very cool .

Lake Chabot is a fun course with many chal;lenging holes.
