About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

challenging fun course
Lake Chabot is a fun course to play with many challenging holes. The greens are in very good condition but very difficult.
My favorite hole is number 18 which is a par 6 at 649 yards. It has tremendous ups and downs.

I have visited this course 5/6 times this year 2021 and enjoyed every moment being there.
It has a excellent mix of design, course and holes. And one of the best hole is 18.

course is decent. cars got broken into
hide you stuff before playing cause 10 cars got broken into as we were finishing. the staff didn’t really mind as tho it happens regularly…security was “on break.” park near the club house. course was average
Fun old school lay out
This course is fun to play because you can hit a variety of shots. You can be aggressive off the tee if you’re hitting it accurate, or lay back to your favorite yardage. The greens are small so there is a premium on accuracy for your approach shots. You can either make a bunch of birdies, or loss a bunch of balls if your hitting it off line. There is a lot slope on every hole. This course is enjoyable for all skill levels. This course is in decent condition for a muni. There are some dried out areas, but most importantly the landing areas and greens are in good condition.

Suggest add some signs
The course is very hilly and fun to play. Unlike other courses where the cart path will always bring you to the next tee box, there are quite a few holes in this course with multiple paths and crossroads but lack of signs to show the right direction. Suggest add clear signs in these crossroads.

Solid Value
I ended up coming here because it was 15 degrees cooler here than further inland in the East Bay. The course was in pretty good shape. The biggest issue is the bumpy greens from people not fixing their ballmarks. The pace of play was not speedy, but it definitely wasn’t terrible for a Saturday. For those if you who have never been here, it is hilly and you will rarely have a flat lie. Plus, the layout is a bit weird with a road running through several holes and a crazy par 6 to finish the round. But overall it doesn’t penalize miss-hits too badly and there is an option to put up a good score with some shorter holes.
