About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Great condition but...
Tops: grass green and tees are the best for this amount of money, kudos
Bottoms
- no carts ready when we left, the staff didn’t seem to care at all and was not super nice
- I think the course is dangerous (car entrance cross the course 4-5 times I think it is dangerous

Fun course that is very hilly
Lake Chabot is a fun course that is very hilly.
It has some challenging holes and some easy holes.
It has a beautiful setting in the hills of Oakland

Best Layout in the Bay
This course is absolutely stunning. Lots of elevated tee locations. Lots of wildlife. Saw a bald eagle. It was magical. Like playing in the Shire, hitting your ball into majestic green canyons. Just played Harding Park, and, honestly, I like this layout WAY more.

Fun in the mud
Course was wet. Most shots ended embedded or the ball was covered with mud.

Lake Chabot is a challenging municipal golf course
Lake Chabot has a fun layout with a lot of elevation changes, greens that are relatively small and sloped, extremely nice Player Assistants and is the home of the only Par 6 in California. With 3 good shots, you could be less than 100 yards to the green.

A little slow this afternoon
Paired up with a couple of people that one of them is super slow as missed almost every shot, 13 holes in 3.5 hrs, had to quit because it’s getting too dark
