About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Aeration and someone stole...
The course was being aerated and had to plAy the back nine twice. This information should have been disclosed on TeeOff website. Also, my ball retriever was stolen from my bag when I went to the restroom before my round started. Sad that a fellow golfer would steal, but at least the important items remained.
Misinformation
Had to play back nine twice, due to aerating, which was not annotated,on golfnow.com .
This Course has significantly raised it's fees, while the Course and it's management has tumbled to all time lows.

Nothing special, currently dry like a lot of courses
A lot of up and down holes. Courses needs more water but so do most courses.

Showed up a half hour early they let us move on ahead had a great round of golf course was in very good shape pace of play was great golf carts were clean had a nice morning afternoon

Good course with unusual holes
Lake Chabot is a fun course with many hills some steep.
The 18th hole is a wonderful par 6 over 600 yards.
The ninth hole is a par 3 that drops down a huge amount and you cannot see the flag when you hit.
It is not easy but fun.

Interesting layout and very hilly
The course is not overly long but the hilly slopes and small greens is challenging enough. There isn't one hole where it is flat from tee to green and you must carry your shots the full distance unless going downhill. You also need to know where to place your shots as there are also fairways sloping sideways. It is a fun course for non-beginners, bring extra balls and walking not recommended unless you're in tip-top shape.

Patchy
The course is a fun one to play. Very hilly and challenging but theres not a lot of grass. They say they are conserving or not using water I dont know the exact wording. But if you're not going to spend the money on water and put grass down maybe a golf course wasnt the right thing to put there. I'd play again if I randomly happen to be that far out in oakland again. But wont travel that far again for it.

Common, for the price let’s start making some improvements
The grass around many of the greens isn’t grass, it’s weeds, or dirt or wood chips.
Some of the greens are pretty old school small so the area around the greens should be worked on constantly. Plant grass, water, kill the weed. Whatever.
Do something to make the course better.
What’s the point of having a Marshall if they don’t push pace of play.

We're surprised to hear that pace of play may have been slowed. Our expanded tee times and single rider cart policy has reinforced our 4 – 4.5 hour golf round timing. Improved
Looks like they actually watered the course.. Greens
and fairways were groomed.. course much better than last July. Greens were "soft" more like May!!! Low 70`s and soft breeze.. perfect! No smoke haze!

California Wildfire Weather
I had booked a tee time for 3 people at 11:20 AM. Im sure youve heard about California and its wildfires and what its done to our air and sky. The weather was so bad that morning and our sky was so orange my buddies and I decide to cancel our round due to the unhealthy air quality and the sky being so orange couldnt even see a golf ball. I didnt realize though it was a pre paid round. If we actually would have went and played then it wouldnt bother me . But i was writing this email on the return of my money for the round 150$. Mind you we never even went because the air was so bad couldnt breath. Ive spent alot of money on this app. I just hope you guys could make this right for a valued customer . We've checked with GolfNow and it looks as though you already got in touch with them and your refund is expected in 3-5 business days.
