About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Great Sunday play!
Wasn’t the biggest fan of Sunday golf but Lake Chabot new 12 minutes gap really made a huge difference, much more enjoyable for sure not to mention decent course condition, could certainly use better trimming on the greens

course conditions
course was in good condition. many dry spots so had to hit the ball so it would not role back down the hill.

With a deal its worth it
If you get a hot deal it's worth it for $35 or less with a cart., but for the standard rate I definitely feel money is better spent elsewhere. The greens and tee boxes are in really bad condition, and there is no starter so 1st hole tee offs can be a free for all causing delays along the way..
It is a fun course though and challenging in its own way.

Good course with some great holes
Lake Chabot is a very hilly course.
It is one of the few I use a cart.
The 9th hole is a par 3 of about 140 yards that goes down hill greatly and you can barely see the green when you hit.
My favorite hole is the 18th which is a par 6 mostly downhill.
There are some difficult holes but most are challenging but fun.

Aeration and someone stole...
The course was being aerated and had to plAy the back nine twice. This information should have been disclosed on TeeOff website. Also, my ball retriever was stolen from my bag when I went to the restroom before my round started. Sad that a fellow golfer would steal, but at least the important items remained.

Misinformation
Had to play back nine twice, due to aerating, which was not annotated,on golfnow.com .
This Course has significantly raised it's fees, while the Course and it's management has tumbled to all time lows.

Nothing special, currently dry like a lot of courses
A lot of up and down holes. Courses needs more water but so do most courses.

Showed up a half hour early they let us move on ahead had a great round of golf course was in very good shape pace of play was great golf carts were clean had a nice morning afternoon

Good course with unusual holes
Lake Chabot is a fun course with many hills some steep.
The 18th hole is a wonderful par 6 over 600 yards.
The ninth hole is a par 3 that drops down a huge amount and you cannot see the flag when you hit.
It is not easy but fun.

Interesting layout and very hilly
The course is not overly long but the hilly slopes and small greens is challenging enough. There isn't one hole where it is flat from tee to green and you must carry your shots the full distance unless going downhill. You also need to know where to place your shots as there are also fairways sloping sideways. It is a fun course for non-beginners, bring extra balls and walking not recommended unless you're in tip-top shape.
