About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Improved
Looks like they actually watered the course.. Greens
and fairways were groomed.. course much better than last July. Greens were "soft" more like May!!! Low 70`s and soft breeze.. perfect! No smoke haze!
California Wildfire Weather
I had booked a tee time for 3 people at 11:20 AM. Im sure youve heard about California and its wildfires and what its done to our air and sky. The weather was so bad that morning and our sky was so orange my buddies and I decide to cancel our round due to the unhealthy air quality and the sky being so orange couldnt even see a golf ball. I didnt realize though it was a pre paid round. If we actually would have went and played then it wouldnt bother me . But i was writing this email on the return of my money for the round 150$. Mind you we never even went because the air was so bad couldnt breath. Ive spent alot of money on this app. I just hope you guys could make this right for a valued customer . We've checked with GolfNow and it looks as though you already got in touch with them and your refund is expected in 3-5 business days. Fun and fast
A really fun municipal course. Pace of play is always good. Very hilly but in a way that is not too challenging. Always a fun round.

Odd Layout
I can guess that fitting a full par 72 track into this landscape would be challenging, but this course layout wound up be a little dangerous and honestly, a little gimmicky. I love a thinking man's version of golf but this course often had scenarios in which I wasn't sure where I was supposed to hit. Combine that with multiple mid-fairway road crossings and a 600+ yd par 6 18th hole ( on which I got 200+ yards of role? ) and you had a course I endured rather than enjoyed. Additionally, the fog was super-thick and didn't burn off until the 9th hole leaving me genuinely having no idea where I was going for the first 9 holes (2nd hole par 3, my whole 4-some hit what we thought were good shots but as we drove up, realized we were aiming 30 yds to the left of the green). I'll play anywhere once, but that will be the total of the times I'll play this course.

Our Par 6 Finishing hole is all downhill and does give you a generous roll on your tee sheet if you put it in the right spot. Because of our location in the hills of Oakland, we do get dense fog at times throughout the year but usually peters out mid-morning on these kind of days. Old time short course
An very old short course with lots elevation changes that keep it interesting...the greens were ok for municipal course but the tee box were really badly gouged out.

Bay Area Gem
Very Good Greens for a public Course the Oakland Hills offer tremendous views. The elevation of the holes is severe if you’re short you’re ball can roll back 100 yards. A truly unique layout I would give it a must play recommendation.

Horrific course
Would never go again thought it was a joke how bad the fairways and everything was it also had a par six that I got there in 2 if I played two or three balls I would have got a albatross or double eagle its not realistic anyways I will never go again.

Very fun, lots of hills
First time playing Lake Chabot and I am looking forward to playing again. I had a lot of fun. It was hot so I chose an early tee time to try and beat some of the heat. Opting for the cart was wise because there are so many hills but that added to the challenge of the course. There are some holes that you can really attack before wrapping up with the par 6 18th hole! Every employee I spoke to was great.

Lots of hills so get a cart
First time playing here and chose it specifically because of the par 6 18th hole. Everything about the day was great. The staff was fantastic, everyone on the course was friendly, the pace of play was quick and the views were awesome. It took me about 3 and a half hours to play the round.

They don’t care about the greens conditions,are the worst ever play
Not with it to pay 60 something dollars una course that the manager or the superintendent doesn’t care,fairways 5 out of 10,greens 1 out of 10 ,to dry and really bad shape,too expensive for the conditions,the staff at pro shop are so mean,the only good is the food place at the back nine,not work it

Unless you have ALL DAY, don’t do it!
Not only is the majority of the course a hilly cow pasture, but the pace of play is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW! I played as a twosome and it took us 3 hours just to get to hole 11 due waiting the entire round. Not enjoyable at all!
As a follow-on; the Marshall was requested on hole number 11. He did absolutely nothing to speed play. When I saw him on hole 14, he stated "It's slow all the way to 18, sorry."
Isn't it the Marshall's job to rectify the situation of slow play, rather than observe and condone it while doing nothing??
