About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

This course is EXTREMELY hilly... I agree with some other reviews ...don't even CONSIDER walking it! Easy to lost balls in VERY tall weeds... and very thorny! However, I had an enjoyable day... I would rate the course just "OK"... needs lots of new sod on tee boxes and around greens...

Great course, great views, but greens need work
Played today and the course was in beautiful conditions and the views were amazing as usual. The greens however were in really bad shape. So many divots that made it possible to putt with any confidence.

Somewhat difficult and challenging due to steep hills
DO NOT Attempt to walk this course... it would be BRUTAL! It has VERY steep hills and some long walks between a couple of holes. The greens were in excellent shape, but the tee boxes were in poor shape. The entire course could use better send in the very few sand traps and much more watering. All in all, it was a nice outing, but I wouldn't rush back...

We do have plenty of golfers who enjoy the up-and-down nature of the walk for exercise during their round. We also offer golf cart rental to those who prefer. Security
We had a nice round of golf, beautiful weather. However when we returned to the parking lot, the windows were smashed on 3 vehicles including one belonging to my gold partner. There should be better security for your guests.

Pretty good value
The course conditions have improved a little over the years. The driving range is way better than before! No amenities due to the pandemic. Play here if if you like scenic views and lots of hilly uneven lies.

;ale Chabot is a fun course
Lake Chabot is a fun course to play.
They have a few holes that are wonderful including # 18 which is a par 5!
The only negative was that we had to wait 30 minutes past our tee time because they did not have any carts available.

Due to our new COVID Prevention Procedures and Plan, we currently require single rider carts only which causes many more carts to be used throughout the day. We also take the extra time to deep clean, disinfect and sanitize carts for your safety prior to rental. We are working hard to make carts available in a timely manner for every golfer’s tee time and to whoever wants to rent them. GREENS
i'am not really complaining how the greens are not in good conditions and you guys just barely open.. is there any chance you guys are fixing the greens?.. its totally mess from the front 9 to back 9.. but to the pro shop and the friendliness of the staff are 10-star.. I miss my 8:00 AM tee-time due of my patient emergency?. need to work..i came like11:00am did not cancel my time? and let me squeeze at 12:00 noon.. but this is only for TODAY and i have valid reason.. this is for the players who's reading this.. don't copy me!! thank you so much for today

many people jump right in front of my chipping
Four people jumped in front of my game. One guy wanted to fight about him jumping in front of me.
I only played 9-10 holes... and just back to the clubhouse.
The club could not provide any adjustment but did say send GolfNow my issues.

Great Course
Great course. Layout was a little strange hitting over the road you enter on on multiple holes but the course was great. Par 6 was definitely different and most greens made me feel like I was at Pebble Beach!
