About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Great value
Four stars, great experience, great staff, pace could be better, fairways are okay not great, green are in very good shape
Windy this time
It was windy this time... usually MAYBE 1 club..2 today.
The fairways alittle brown... tee boxes ok. Greens were nice. Pace was good.. waited only 3X which is good for Sunday. Round took 4 hours. Carlotta makes the BOMB burgers!!!!
Slow round but very enjoyable
Chabot is a challenging course with lots of elevation changes and many blind shots. I think this is one reason that the play is a little slower. The course offers lots of interesting holes and sloping fairways make shot selection and execution harder.
Greens were in good condition.
We paid less than $40 for a round which is very good value for money.

The course is challenging.
The course is very hilly. Some hole design is very challenging. It is very tough for ours playing here for the first time without knowing layout. Some holes need very good distance control. The course has nice views. The green was in a good condition. But the rest of the course need a lot work.
The staffs are friendly. But when we arrived the reception, he was under pressure to deal with all the customers.
Tough course
1been playing about 5 yes. I usually just play 9 holes walking the Marina course and this was a great challenge for me and my golf buddy We especially love the par on ibelece 14z gteat down hill drop!!!
A very unusual course
Lake Chabot is a very unusual course.
It is extremely hilly but that is a positive.
It is a challenging course with many very interesting holes.
The front 9 has 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's and 3 par 5;s.
The back 9 has no par 5's but has a par 6!!
The weather was cool and comfortable with a little wind but not too much.
Golf in the hills!!!
The course is in great condition RIGHT NOW. GREENS ARE ON POINT AND ROLLING REALLY WELL!!! Great job Chabot !!
Awesome for a Muni!
This place gave me some ice challenges that I did not expect. It is better than most munis I have ever played. The views are million dollars worth!
I will play again!
Neat Course
The course is the most hilly course I've ever played. Very tricky lies on every hole. This is one of the neatest courses in the Bay Area. the only knock was a very rude young man behind the counter. He had a very bad attitude and was flat out rude to our whole group.
But I will go back again to play this fun course!
Better then the last time
I've been playing here a couple times a year for the past two years, and I must say this time was the best it has ever been. The course condition has improved tremendously. The greens are fast and the ball will continue to run to make it a monster tee hit. And of course Carlita is a Eastbay treasure!!
