Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Course needs maintenance
Course condition is so so. Tee off area and fairways need maintenance. The burned club house has not been torn down and replace yet.

course in great shape. also the greens were in great condition.
Nice course
Overall it was a nice course. The course is very hilly, a lot of ups and downs. The holes are fairly straight and wide open. Club house/pro shop recently caught on fire but it looks like it would have been nice inside from what was left.

Rough transition period?
Our cart died. They don’t have phone service. We had to walk the last three holes and ditch the cart. When we told the clubhouse they said that they can’t do anything like a rain check for a cart in the future.
Lake Chabot in good shape
This was the first time I've played there in about two years. The course was in better shape than I remember it, except for the cart paths, which were pretty bumpy.
It's a very interesting course to play, with lots of elevation changes. I love the 9th hole, where you tee off to a par 3 about 150 feet below the tee boxes.

course was in really good shape. The scenery was beautiful and great to see all the wildlife.
Challenging Course
A challenging course. Lots of elevation change from uphill to downhill each hole. Fairway was in pretty good condition. The green for the most part were in good condition. Some holes could use some touchup. The green at hole 9, the ball was bouncing as it roll toward the pin for one person in our group. The 18th par 6 was a unique challenge.
Chabot in the late spring
Greens were great. Fairways mowed tight. The pin setter was not in a good mood when they set #18. Take some time to take in the gorgeous views.

Not Terrible
This course is alright if you want to try your hand at playing a course in lousy condition. The cart paths don't really exist, the Rough around the greens is filled with flowers and the greens are extremely small. Not a tough course even from the tips but it's fun sometimes. Always gets backed up about the 14th hole cause of the Par 6 I guess
