Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch

First off, I play this course regularly, so I have some experience with different folks at the course. The starters are great, they really do a great job at ensuring people are moving along to get to #1. On some rounds, you will even see them driving the course to move play along. The clubhouse staff could use a lesson in politeness and customer service. If I am paying $100 for a round of golf, act like it. This isn't a goat ranch. At the same time, it's not a resort, so don't act like you're the best thing in the area, you're not. This brings me to yesterday... it was easily 97 degrees outside. We saw the drink cart on the first hole, literally had not teed off yet, and never saw it again. At the turn, the drink/snack shack was closed. This is ridiculous and should NEVER happen in Florida in the heat of summer. By 17, the rain came in droves and we abandoned the round. When we got to the clubhouse, the cart attendants had blocked the exit (to keep people from driving into the parking lot) which in turn made it nearly impossible to walk past in the downpour; very aggravating. I will return, but my view of this course is waning.

Nice course, went during the wet season so there were a few cart path only holes. This will be awesome in a couple months.

New and wonderful … open course w/ undulating greens …. Houses still being built there … Might become private

BEWARE... IF it rains it cart path only, which I agree with to an extent. If it's hot, it makes course real long.

Greens were in rough shape to putt but playable.

Enjoyed an excellent round here with my son. Course was in great condition- even during the extreme heat. Layout is challenging but fair; plenty of opportunities to work out any driver issues without getting into too much trouble. Only thing that would have made it top notch would have been a cart person during the round. Luckily we bought some Gatorade at the beginning, but a couple of cocktails would have made a highly enjoyable round.

Gorgeous golf course, well designed holes, in fantastic condition. Very challenging greens, and while "punched" 3 weeks ago, were still fast. One of the nicest courses I have played.

A very nice course with friendly staff. Greens are quite “tricky”. That’s not meant as unfair, but rather as hit it close or your putt may have multiple breaks. Lots of elevation changes on the greens, and like most Florida courses not much elevation change from tee to green.

Played on summer in the afternoon so course wasn’t real busy. Played through one 4 some after waiting a few holes and finish in around 3 hours. Seemed a bit pricey for the summer, but it was a good experience and I would play again.

An enjoyable round of golf. The course is in very good shape. The greens rolled really well. The pace of play was slow, but we finished before dark. Would play again if I was in the area.

Course is in superb condition. Nice track to play.
