Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch

Terrible course! No ranger working. Rental clubs were old and were missing vital clubs that they couldn’t find. Pace of play was ridiculously slow…5 hours to play 17 holes (the sun went down). Our golf cart ran out of battery at the 13th hole…we called the pro shop and no one answered the phone…we left a voicemail and never heard back…we called again 15 minutes later and no answer. We had to find our way back to the pro shop in the dark. I can’t believe that the residents were foolish enough to pay $59k for a deeded golf membership on top of an additional $300 a month in HOA fees and on top of a $25 golf cart fee. What a joke! I’ll never play there again!

This is the second time playing Esplanade. The course is growing in very nicely. They are still building a clubhouse so it’s not complete. For golf, the facility is great. Nice practice area, professional and considerate staff. Tough but fair course with fast, undulating greens. There was no gps in the carts but they provided a very comprehensive yardage book in each cart. Plenty of rest rooms and water & ice machines along course. I can’t think of a better course in the area..

For a two year old course the conditions were very good. Greens are still hard but overall the conditions were very good.

Nice layout, quite fair. The greens are very severe so shot placement is critical to avoid the dreaded three and four putts.

Quite expensive but a good experience.

My payment got preempted and I was never scheduled. Very disappointed after receiving an email saying that I was signed up. Not sure what happened.

Ignore the ratings since I never got to play.

Great layout very fair super greens staff was fantastic Play it while you can it's supposed to go private at some point until then it's probably the best community golf course in Sarasota being brand new everything is great and all the people who work there very helpful and very pleasant.

Azario is beautifully maintained. Picturesque, but still very open. Greens are quite challenging. Only complaint is there was no GPS on cart. For the high cost of a round, didn't care for having to resort to a flip booklet along with my gps watch for hole layout.

I’ve played this course several times in the last 6 months, and would say the current conditions are below-average, especially for the current rates.
