Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch

Had a tee time this afternoon around 12:30. Staff was extremely friendly and amenities were great. They were nice enough to let us go out just as a twosome.

We started 10 minutes ahead of pace and ended up 30 min behind pace of play because the group in front took so long.

Truth be told we saw the ranger twice on the front so was a little disappointed they didn’t come out and say anything to the group. For what you are paying for, I’d expect them to keep up with pace of play. Greens weren’t in the best condition and were hard to read, but it’s almost summer so it’s understandable.

Generous fairways let you rip tee shots with confidence but higher risk/reward shots look very tempting and are deceiving more difficult than they appear. Greens will make you think hard, no matter where you land the ball.

Greens are challenging with some severe undulations.

Course needs some maturing, even after the three years I've played here. Greens are extremely firm and the grass is not consistent on the greens; The however, they all rolled the same.

Fairways tee boxes and bunkers were good.

I played esplanade in season for 80 dollars and it was a phenomenal experience. The staff was friendly, they let us out early. The greens were in great shape despite being airated a few weeks prior. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend playing! We will play there again soon.

Had a wonderful round of golf with friendly people who were members. We had dinner and drinks after at the course after the round. Really enjoyed everything . I would have given the place a 5 rating except I was greeted in the pro shop by , to be nice , a very indifferent group of people at the front desk. First impressions are important and they shouldn’t be having any influence on what wonderful place you have there.

The course was in lousy shape for a $160 green fee. The greens were especially rough with many bald spots and inconsistent pace. For this price point, Calusa CC was in much better shape.
