Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch

This is a fun course with well manicured, wide open fairways and some tough greens. A bit pricey in season but a good deal during the summer. I play the red/white combo which is fair and reasonably demanding for seniors. Some of the greens (talking about you 10th hole) are over-necessarily tricked up, but hey, who doesn't like a windmill obstacle now and again. Drive over to the poolside bar afterwards for a nice drink with great service. Overall one of my favorites in LWR while it's still accessible to the public.

The grass was in excellent shape, greens challenging and moderately fast. Was a very forgiving course wide open for the most part. Carts were super nice and comfortable, range was average. Only one bathroom on the course and ice machine water. Had a snack shack and cart girls came around often.

Great course with trick greens. Pace of play was excellent and we finished before the thunderstorm hit!

I understand that we are in the rainy season however, when you are booking around here, they should tell you how many holes are cartpath only. Unless you’re good enough to hit them all right next to the card path be prepared for a long hot day.

I’ve played every public course in the Tampa Bay Area and this course was outstanding. From the conditions to the pace of play to the staff, exceptional. Will certainly be back

No pin sheet or flag colors to figure out position in green. So I hit the wrong club into a bunch of greens costing me at least 7-8 putts. Course is too nice for this kind of problem.

Azario is by far one of the best public courses around. Great layout, awesome conditions and 4 hour round on July 4th.

Have played here on numerous occasions. The course was in tremendous shape and seems to get better each time I play there.

The course is set in a neighborhood with several other courses that are private. They say when they finish this development this one will go private. It’s solid public golf. But not a great value at $100 a round. The greens had been punched and hadn’t quite recovered. They were still a little bumpy. The fairways and tees were in good, but not pristine shape. The fairways were pretty wide. It’s a good course for an average golfer off the tee. There are some holes it would have helped to have played here before. Like I said. A lot of room to hit the ball. A lot of water but almost all of it is on the sides from the white tees. Very few forced carries. The greens are huge and very undulating. Very much the hardest part of the course. On or around the green. But not in the right section was a very tough two putt or up and down. All in all a fun course to play. Pace was just over 4 hours on a busy day. Well worth a play when in the area though not a great value compared to home in NC.

Loved everything about playing the course except there was a fivesome playing in front of us with three carts. A course this nice should have a Marshall driving around instead of just sitting at the first tee box

Absolutely beautiful facility. Easily rated top 2 on courses I’ve been to between here and North Carolina tracks. Unfortunately it started storming as we were working through the first nine, but each hole we played was in perfect condition. The greens are super tricky with pace and the rake made it an even better challenge. Nice wide-open fairways provided a lot of forgiveness off the tee. 10/10 would revisit.
