About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Any day on the Course is a great day out of the Office
Course is always in good condition, greens are fast, Marshall’s are keeping players in check as expected. I will play again as long as green fees are within my budget.
. Good value; but the greens are unfriendly to a first timer!
40 puts spoiled my round; but I blame my putting, not the greens. The course was in good condition, not too tough even though it played longer due to stiff swirling winds. I certainly intend to reply it.

Always love this course, although today the greens were running much slower than ideal. Still one of my top 5 bay area public courses. Always worth the drive...
Solid value for money
Fun layout for golfers of all levels. A few water carries, but mostly wide open driving with room to miss on both sides. The greens are the trickiest part of the course and can cost you strokes if you are on the wrong level. Par 5s all play very easy and should be good birdie opportunities. A couple of drawbacks are the slow pace of play (last time I played it was a 5.25 hr round on the weekend) and the relatively short distance from the tips at 6600-6700 yards. Overall though, I'd recommend this as one of the best public courses in the fairfield/Vacaville area. Afternoon tee times are great value for the money.
Angry Marshal
Played here many times, never had an experience with a marshal as bad as this was. Hassling us to hurry up even though there was literally no group waiting for us to hit their shots. We finished our round in 4:05 on a Saturday morning. What a jerk
Always love RS, but greens were quite slow today
Overall conditions were very good. Just two items that were a bit short of expectations and those would be slow greens and hard bunker sand...
otherwise everything is as expected from the high quality that Rancho Solano has established.
