Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Great layout, Fun course
Enjoy playing here, and worth the drive. Only bad thing was ling round.Otherwise, , 4 stars!!

Just can't beat Rancho Solano for price/course conditions. For a public track, this place has nice clear cuts of grass throughout the course and lush full fairways/rough. Greens are strongly sloped and roll true.

The course looks great and plays even better. Green are not easy but roll true,. A beautiful day on a great course. Well worth it!

Greta course. I got the $39 twilight rate with a cart. Not sure I’d spend $80 on the mornings though.
Best conditions for a public course
Other than the lack of sand in the bunkers the course was in the best shape of any public track I have played this year. Tee boxes were well maintained with most having benches as well
Great value, slippery greens
First time playing Rancho Solano, but certainly won't be my last. Probably the best value 18 in the broader bay area. Greens were incredibly quick and challenging
Slow play
5 hour round! No enforcement by the marshals. Group in front of us took more than 15 minutes per hole and played that way for 18 holes! It was frustrating!
