Rancho Solano Golf Course

Rancho Solano is a really well maintained course, among the best playing conditions of any public course in the Bay Area.

One thing that's both a feature & a bug are the greens - they're large & fast, with lots of undulations. On this most recent round they had the toughest pin positions of my 5-6 rounds played here.

The net effect was a long round, over 5 hours. There was a Marshall circulating constantly, but it was slow because a putt that just missed the cup could go 8+ feet past. One of my group had a putt roll off the front of the green from a back pin placement! I'm a good putter, being honest, and I had at least 6 3-putts!

They could speed up play with more sensible pins - just saying!

Wide fairways were wet. 2-3 club winds made 200+ yds Par 3s difficult. Plenty of water hazards. Challenging

Course in pretty good shape. Pace of play was a little slow. Would not recommend to walk!

Greens are huge and multi leveled. Fairways are open and sight lines are good. Course is well kept, only a few tee boxes that could use improvement. Great course especially on a hot deal

Greens were fast and smooth. Nice fairways. Sand in bunkers. Wide open generous course with big greens.

Don’t hit driver off #11, Can’t see the landing area off the tee. the fairway slopes downhill toward the lake. I’m not a long hitter but somehow made it into the lake about 310 yards off the tee. Nice double bogey after birding #10

Pace of play was a bit slow for a Monday afternoon.

Great course. Greens and fairways are in great condition. My complaint is the practice green is horrible. It’s in perfect condition but there is no where on the green to putt that doesn’t slope severely to the west. I mean no where. So, once you hit the first green it’s anyone’s guess as to what the speed of the greens are. Time to rebuild the practice green. Please!!!!

I usually play as a single and get paired up. 2 wonderful Swedish gentlemen (father/son) who put up with my inconsistent play. Started on time at 1:20. Front nine was warmer than back nine…Play slowed

on back nine. Got increasingly colder as sun dropped in sky. Only got in 17 holes as the course closes at 5:30 this time of year. Rounds set at 4 1/2 hours but from our start time we only had 4 hours until closing.

Side note: Lost my IPhone between 7-8. Cart Girl/lady/woman found it immediately and got it to the clubhouse as I made the turn. Eased my tension and allowed me to keep playing… Saved My Day

Little foggy to start ! Turned out to be sunny and clear. Greens where true and moving great , even after all the rain . Everyone that worked at the course and people playing golf had great attitudes and where just fun to be around

Great looking golf course in a really neat, tucked away corner of Solano County. A lot of fairly challenging hills and dog-legs. Not the longest course, but it does require some strategic shots here and there. Water does not come into play too much on the course, but it serves as a nice scenic feature at the least. Only negative I have about this course is that the greens are ENORMOUS... We're talking 30-40 yards wide and 30-40 yards deep. And with that size of greens, you get some mini-golf type putts going. I played my wedge off the green numerous times because the distance of the putt what just not realistic. I would play again, but I (and probably the landscapers) would recommend the course shrinks some of those greens quite a bit.
