Rancho Solano Golf Course
About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Green course
The round was fun but spoiled by the afternoon Guy in the shop who was very rude. The Pro who checked us in was great and very polite. Course was in good shape and the pace was very good for a weekend.
Solano golf palooza
Was given replay rate (played sister course Paradise Valley in morning). Course is in very good condition considering drought in California.
Public course feels like a country club
I'm an average 19.5 index golfer with 2 seasons of experience on mostly Sacramento area courses. Rancho Solano is very challenging and every hole is interesting and visually pleasing. Course presents every style of challenge with more vertical movement than other valley courses. The conditions are great for a drought season and the 3rd party, on-line deals make this a 4 star experience for 3 star price. They are putting a lot of water on the fairways which are lush but also soggy/soft. The carts are fast and have ParView on-board gps computers which can be a little difficult to use but have loads of features. Best public course in the area, IMHO. I put this course #2 to Yoche for <1hr drive from Davis, HOWEVER, it's location on I80 makes weekend traffic an issue. Play on weekdays.
Awesome public course!
This place is well kept and the pace of play, 3:20, teed off at 0645 hrs. That speaks for itself.
Rancho Solano
Our group was first off on a Thursday morning. Perfect weather and the course played great. Greens were soft so you could shoot for the flags.
Love this course
We teed off at 6:30am so there was nobody in front of us so we played fast, the course is in real good condition. Will be back soon
Very good course
My first time playing here and I was very pleased with the course. Scenic, good layout, and in excellent condition. The green speed is about 10 (stimpmeter), which I consider average but can get very quick from above the hole. We played the blue tees (6690 yards). The front 9 is easy, shortist and wide fairways. The back 9 is far more difficult. Longer, tighter and more water hazards. Holes 10, 11 and 12 are very difficult, with 13 being tough too. It gets easier after that. Our pace of play was excellent, but it was twosome on Thursday at 9AM.
The course
The course is great shape it play fair greens are little fast
course matured since i last played it
fairways and green in great condition. rough can be challenging in places. very scenic layout. the trees a lot bigger now, it's been a while since I last played it. I definitely would recommend it to others. Sand traps could use a bit of help, as could the pro shop and restaurant(a bit dated). overall I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to returning.
greens are true and fast
I highly recommend this course because of the scenery alone and how well kept the grounds are.
Beautiful course
It was a beautiful course that played fantastic. Definitely will play again. A+
One of a Kind!
I love Rancho Solano
The pro shop staff is great
The course has everything you want in a true test of your game. The huge greens roll true and hold a well hit shot.
The GPS in the carts are very helpful.
Can't wait to go back.
Wet fairways
If you play in the morning the fairways have a tendency to be a bit wet and soft so you get a little less roll
Staff is horrible
Me and a buddy played at Rancho the other day. The guy in the pro shop was obnoxious, rude, and had no customer service skills whatsoever. Then the course was busy, which is great and I understand people get backed up but the Marshall was only visible once. He was doing an amazing job marshaling under a tree in the shade right by the 16th tee. Needless to say we had almost a 6 hour round, about 5:45. I'll be going to paradise from here on out!
Beautful
Love this course! Great condition, peaceful, beautiful! Played a little slow but it was a Friday! Worth the wait!
Golf de Rancho
Excellent layout. Beautiful large greens (a little slow)
Forgiving wide fairways. A bunch of fun to be had by all levels of play. Enjoy!
Course in Great Shape
Course was in great shape and green. Greens are huge and fast. Great place to hit a lot of greens in regulation but hard to keep your putts low
love this course!!!
Got late for our teatime due to accident on the way. Called the pro shop and the assistant , Henry was very understanding, land took care of us as soon as we got there. Played well and my companion visiting from Savannah, Georgia was thrilled with his play scoring 3over ... 75. We also appreciated very much the hospitality of food&beverage lady, Michelle, supplying us with cold Budweiser Light!!!
