About
The Championship 18 hole course and driving range contains 140 acres adjacent to Salinas Municipal Airport. The course is a par 72 with a Black Tee 71.9 rating, a Blue Tee 70.7 rating, a White Tee 69.4 rating, a Red Tee 69 rating and a Gold Tee 65.4 rating. In 1998 Golf Course Architect Steve Halsey, of Hlsey Darary Golf in La Mesa California redesigned the course for a complete renovation. Mr. Halsey is an accomplished California Golf Course Architect having provided architectural design for the following golf courses: The River Course at Alisal, Solvang; Coronado Municipal Golf Course; Balboa Park Municipal Golf Course; Salinas Golf & Country Club; Palo Alto Golf Course; Modesto Municipal Golf Course and El Segundo Golf Course.

Fun Sunday Golf
I played with a foursome of friends and family and had a ton of fun. Course was in good shape, greens fast but in very good shape. Play was average four hours for 18. Truly a fun course for a reasonable price.
well-kept course
As almost always in Salinas it was a little windy, but this course is very well maintained and a pleasure to play. A little water and some sand traps make it interesting and at time challenging to play. Nice open fairways and manicured greens.
The wind is always blowing.
The course is in excellent shape. Greens are good and true and fairways are kept up. Wind is the only problem but not much anyone can do about that.
The course has great challenges.
The Salinas Fairways is a very nice course. The Staff was polite & professional. I would play this course again & recommend to others.
Only a Bear in the Wind
Wide open course with little trouble that doesn't present too much difficulty unless the wind is blowing, which it quite often does. If it's not windy the wide fairways and accessible greens should lead to an enjoyable round. Decent course for a fun round at a reasonable price. I always try to play as early as possible for a fast round. Tends to back up once the locals wake up.
Great course for the money
Very friendly staff and well manicured course. The pace of play was slow, but we were following a tournament.
Great Municipal Course
The Fairways has been rated as one of the best Muni Courses in the State. The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways were well kept. The new staff at the Pro Shop were friendly and helpful. Good place for an afternoon of golf

Really nice greens, very open friendly course. Good course for beginner and walking.
Great Pro Shop
Some great bargains in the Pro Shop the guys were very friendly and helpful. The only ourselves was in good condition cool and windy the day we played. The greens were excellent. Good course for beginners but the greens are challenging.
Good course for practice
The greens are nice for a muni course. They're big and good pace. Course maintenance is not bad. I would play more frequent if it's in my neighborhood. Since it's 50 miles way, I think once is enough.
The course is a typical municipal golf course
Similar to a number of local muni golf course, Salinas Golf is a great golf for the money. The course is relatively flat and does not have any major obstacles. It is great for beginners. The course pace in the afternoon is good. We finished the round under 4 hrs.
good, not great
Fairways and tee boxes are a bit average to below average, BUT the greens were quite nice.
the staff was not that friendly. Made us wait on the first tee for a 4th who showed up late... just give him his own cart and tell him to catch us, it would have made more sense

am from out of the area so i won't play there
more than once a year or so, but it is a nice
place, well maintained with greens that have
very subtle breaks and are quite fast. you better
bring all your putting skills.
