About
Situated within the Santa Ana Riverbed, River View Golf Course is conveniently located just minutes from Disneyland, Anaheim, and Long Beach. The course's design intertwines with the river, providing challenging hazards on several holes. The narrow layout also features elevated greens that rarely offer a flat lie and are fiercely guarded by sand. Accuracy is a necessity throughout this golf course. Although it offers a fair amount of challenges, there is also ample room off the tees that makes the course more accessible for beginners. River View G.C. is also popular for its practice facilities, which include a driving range with targets and the county's largest putting course. While the other facilities may be modest, River View offers an affordable game that is one of Orange County's best values.

Golfer Reviews
Cart didn’t work properly for this course
Quite literally moving the cart to the first tee, the parking brake in the golf cart didn’t work. Proceeded to not work again until tee box #8, and even then seemed a little unstable. With playing a course with hills, seems like a functional parking brake would be a priority. That, coupled with the holes around the bottom of the ravine sort of decaying slowly and not being fixed, this isn’t a course worth paying $40 per person to play. If they can fix some of these issues, I still think it could get back to that point again, but right now it isn’t worth the money.
Great value
Greens excellent.
Best value in O.C.
Challenging target golf.
Fairways are a little rough but not bad.
Updated GPS very good.
Small little Cafe but the ladies that work it have been there for ever and make good food.
No bar but sell beer.
Great staff.
You did get a lot of beginners at the place because if the price and can slow the pace a little but usually moves good and 4.5 hours for a round.
The riverbed is to be treated as ground under repair and as such free drops out. DON'T DRIVE IN RIVERBEDS YOU'LL GET STUCK.
Been playing this course for over 35 years. Love it.
Worst pace of play management I’ve encountered
Played here for first time yesterday (I play 2x per week), thought I’d give it a shot even after hearing negative things about it.
1st, booked my tee time for 342p and was advised I’d be paired up with a 3some, that didn’t happen so I shot solo for the first 3 holes then the guys in front of me and I paired ourselves
2nd and most importantly — they allowed a group of 7 to play ahead of us and not one person in management did anything about it — the pace took so long that my group couldn’t finish our round and ended up leaving @ hole # 17 since we had to return carts by 730p
I’m cart was stuck on sand so one of the course employees was kind enough to assist; that’s the only positive experience I had @ riverview
Thoroughly disappointed at this course — and the course itself for the price is kinda silly.
In 9 is open
The greens are in good conditions here.
Though the rain caused the hole to hole travel
a lot more challenging, the course is fun to play.
The fairways need some care, which I hope will be addressed to by the course management.
Close to the major cities.
RIVERVIEW VIEW
I play this course a lot; it has eight elevated greens, and favors left-handed slicers. Right-handed players do well if they can draw their tee shots. Unfortunately for this course, it suffered at the hands of the Southern California 22/23 winter. However, the course management has a good history of returning fairways to acceptable surfaces. By July the course should be in great condition!
Painfully slow round; no marshals to help
A useful course, but painfully slow going around, with no marshals (to help speed things up) seen in over 5 hours on the course. The river overflow recently damaged some of the fairways.
Wacky course loved it
I just started playing golf and experienced several courses. I would say river view is a unique course and has its challenges. Would definitely come back.
Ultra slow play, and no marshall to help sort that.
5 hours of ultra-slow play behind 4 duffers. No marshall in sight during those 5 hours to help sort the problem. I need to find another course asap.
Just an ugly course
This course was weird. The river running down the middle was mostly empty and the bridges crossing them looked like they were build by someone’s uncle. You are packed in so tight to other holes that we almost got hit be at least 3 bad shots from other groups. Then there are some holes with no fairway. None. Just a steep hill that’s rock hard and
River Bed Has Taken Over
OK, so if you’ve played this course, you know and have excepted that you’re going to Cris cross the river bed. However, due to the historic rainfall in California, the size of this riverbed and leftover sand and sediment has increased by about 50% in width. So it means holes number 13 and 15. For example have little to no fairway. In fact I think whole number 13 is now part three because there’s zero fairway left of course the golf course does not tell you this or offer any discount to their rates even though a substantial portion of the golf course that tracks along, the riverbed has been taken away.
Very slow play
Usually like playing this track, it’s quirky but fun, but place of play was super slow. Need to speed things up and maybe space the groups more, especially since so much construction is going on
This course has a bad design on top of bad conditions.
If this place was maintained to high levels it could be a fun and unique course. But unfortunately it is terribly maintained. Good and well thought out shots end up stuck in deep rough that hides the ball. Rough around greens make chip shots not playable. If you go for the hole, the greens are small. Overall a terrible course that doesn't make any sense. It would just be better off as a park/nature reserve.
