River View Golf Course
About
Situated within the Santa Ana Riverbed, River View Golf Course is conveniently located just minutes from Disneyland, Anaheim, and Long Beach. The course's design intertwines with the river, providing challenging hazards on several holes. The narrow layout also features elevated greens that rarely offer a flat lie and are fiercely guarded by sand. Accuracy is a necessity throughout this golf course. Although it offers a fair amount of challenges, there is also ample room off the tees that makes the course more accessible for beginners. River View G.C. is also popular for its practice facilities, which include a driving range with targets and the county's largest putting course. While the other facilities may be modest, River View offers an affordable game that is one of Orange County's best values.

Tough course
Very strange layout.
Having a fade on your drive makes it very hard to hit fairways.
Greens are very fast but in good condition.
Very easy to lose balls.
We played on a weekday afternoon,, pace was good hardly anybody there, I like this place, greens always in good conditions.
Good Time at the View
The course was in good shape. It’s also fairly cheap and close to home. Hitting straight is a must. Not overly brutal, but challenging.
Parking is horrible and very sketchy.
Pace was much better this time which was very surprising based off of how crowded it was.
A course of varied challenges
I like this course for the variety of real challenges across all aspects of the game.
The recovery from flood-damaged fairways some months ago is excellent.
The slow, bobbly greens post-spiking/punching are a nuisance just now but will settle over the next 2-3 weeks, I'm sure.
Strange
Super weird layout in the riverbed. 90 degree turns, several shot straight up 50 + feet, very tight fairways, target golf, tee boxes and greens very close.
Greens in good shape, fairways OK, rough is rock or not watered weeds. Tee boxes are horrible.
Cheap price, easy to get a tee time.
Less Popular, but still a Blast
It's not Pebble Beach, but the course is challenging enough for beginners and mid-hcaprs. Greens are generally flatish with few surprises. Still fun to play with a couple great long holes (on the front 9) and hole #4 which is a classic challenge. Conditions on the greens and fairways are good to very good and the staff is no nonsense, and straight to business.
Great Greens and oops my ball rolled into the water
Be accurate, absolutely know the distance that you hit that club! The greens were wonderful, the weather was perfect and the layout is as tough as I play! Always a round of labor and love! I’ll be back, especially as the weather gets a bit cooler. The old saying goes,”try it you’ll like it” sure applies here.
nice course
tight fairways, target golf with some small greens.
a true test of driver play and iron shots !
overall a good test for nerves.
Greens were well maintained. Fairways were in pretty good shape. Tee boxes were not in great shape. GPS on my cart got stuck on the 11th hole. Course layout is a bit quirky along and through the Santa Ana riverbed. Overall, it is a decent value. I would play it again, but not a course I would go out of my way to play.
Fun course
It was a fun course to play and it was enjoyable. It was fun to have holes in unexpected places.
