Forest hills
Love the course. Greens recently aerated but rolled okay. Fairways in great shape. Recent rains resulted in reduced roll out but greens receptive. Played an additional 9. Pace of play was great.
Great price, great pace
The greens were recently aerated and were still relatively playable (The GolfNow booking indicated an aeration notification) so course conditions could not be rated at the highest level. Otherwise course conditions were very good. Very friendly greeting from the staff—we were allowed to start earlier than our tee time. Pace of play was outstanding—3 of us finishing in less than 3 hours. We had time to play an additional 9 holes for the price of the golf cart. Forecasted rain and recent maintenance on the greens probably kept others away—but we found everything perfect for our round. Very fair and playable layout—not many bunkers and only two water crossings (on par 3’s). In a few weeks the course should be in great shape—highly recommended

nice course
My first visit to Forest Hills was enough to bring me back despite my bad score. The fairways are cut short so lots of roll and the only drawback to that is that the ball does not sit up well. I almost preferred the lie in the rough! I hit 4 or 5 bunkers and all of them seemed to have huge lips, quite a challenge for this duffer! The greens were nice with many undulations and tiers and also quite fast. I'll score better next time!

A Donald Ross original with some Augusta history
This is an older course that has been maintained fairly well. Built in 1926 by Donald Ross you can see the historic design features throughout the course - shorter than today's designs with placement as a critical element. Green are fairly easy to putt but chipping around the greens is a bit of a challenge. The course was redesigned by Palmer with only 13 holes remaining from the original.
There is history at the course as well. In 1930, Bobby Jones won the Southeastern Open on the course and went on later that year to win the Grand Slam. Perhaps the fond memories drew him back to the area to create Augusta National.

Great Round at Forest Hills
Another good day playing at Forest Hills. The course is in good shape. Tee boxes need some attention after leveling last year they seem a bit beat up. Greens are fast, fast, fast. Had to wait on a few holes for slower group ahead, but round finished in exactly 4 hours.

Pace of play was very very slow. Waited on two groups in front of us every single hole. In desperate need of a ranger

Grounds Staff Needs Lessons on Etiquette
First, the course was in great condition and the staff in the pro shop were helpful and very polite. That was where the good ended. From the first hole to the very last, the maintenance staff was on the course. They would not move put of the fairway while I teed off on the first hole. They watched on multiple holes as I dodged sprinklers to read and execute putts. They followed me for the last 3 holes in a gas powered cart that idled as i was taking shots and putts. I understand the maintenance has to happen to keep a course in shape, but there is a correct way to go about it without interfering with golfers rounds. And even then, when paths cross, a lesson in etiquette would go a long way.

Rained Out No Refund
A storm blew in after 2 holes with a tornadoes warning. The staff would not give me a rain check and neither will GolfNow. So the club got paid but will not do the right thing.

Could be in better shape.
We played the course the day after The Masters. The grass around the greens was brown, if there was any grass at all. There was a lot of dirt around the greens which made chipping impossible. Many tee boxes were in bad shape with no grass at all. The greens on the other hand were in great shape. We got a great deal on Golf Now for $30 per golfer, so it was still a great deal. But if we had to pay $175 during Masters week we would have been greatly disappointed with the conditions. It is a nice track and the best public course near The Masters. Springtime in Augusta should have fantastic course conditions.

Nice round at Forest Hills
Course is rounding into shape; trasitioning to spring conditions. Still some work to do on fairways and first cut rough. Tee boxes are level. Greens are hard, slow and grainy; BUT consistent. Enjoyed my round. Favorite course in the area!!

Beautiful Greens
This is an amazing course - natural undulations, making shots interesting on most holes. The greens were true and fast and the course is stunning and tree lined. The layout is good, and the bunkers are placed to challenge the golfer. We were a mix of two 15 handicappers and a College golfer - we all really enjoyed the round. The staff were all very friendly and we had a good lunch after the round

Great course for a reasonable price on a weekday. The fairways aren’t in the best shape but it’s also early spring so I assume this will get better over the next couple months. Greens are in great shape!

Challenging Course
Great course and definitely challenges your short game. I would like to see some diagrams on the holes or on the scorecard. Some greens are close together and some tee boxes are shared, this made it somewhat confusing. Overall the course was nice and I will play again.
