Fun Layout!
Fun course layout with many elevation changes and tricky greens. Played the Monday after the Masters and the pace of play was excellent. Look forward to playing it again.
Classic Course with fast greens
This Donald Ross course is way ahead of its time. It’s a true test of Golf and the greens at this time of year as dormant and lightning fast in a good way. They do a great job with a small budget and it’s a course you should play.
Great place!
My wife and I were paired with 2 good guys from Evans and we had a blast. We love this course and get there 3 or 4 times a year. Always in great shape, always friendly, always a good time.
Forest hills, Gordon Lakes, and Aiken golf club are my top 3 around here
Thoroughly enjoyable
I'm a bit of a history nut. Intrigued by the connection to Bobby Jones. I was in town for business, looking to sneak a quick round in. This course came recommended by a local and was worth it. Nice pace of play...greens were CHALLENGING. Nice folks on staff.
Great Course, Great Day
Greens in great shape. Sand traps groomed, soft.
1000 tee time, off the course at 1315. Challenging!
Classic Donald Ross course
Cold day so course played longer. Greens in great shape & rest of course was in very good Winter shape. Fun day!
FOR OLD TIME SAKE
I’m from Augusta and have been playing this course 30+ years. The course was my high school’s home course. Still a favorite in the area. This trip was good. Course was in great condition due to recent cold snap thus lack of recent play. Played the whites and the course was set up rather short but can be set up very long. Staff was really accommodating to include top notch snack bar personnel. played on a Tuesday afternoon so pace of play was not an issue. The carts were clean and have usb ports for for charging your phone. Paid around $26 with cart included. Ordered and ate huge bacon cheeseburger with chips at $7.50. Drink was refillable for the day. Parking was ample. Pro shop seemed stocked with ample supplies and goodies. I will keep an eye out for another good deal and get back out soon.
Great condition for season
A little unorganized due to morning frost. Not sure if I played with correct pairing but it was enjoyable.
Never play when it's 40 degress
Although is, and always has been, a great layout and historic, the course condition is marginal at best. I've seen this course at it's greatness. It certainly isn't great anymore?
Forest Hills
Course I play about once a month, love the layout and it challenges every aspect of your game. Greens varies from large to small with many undulations, smooth and fast. Always a good round here no matter the score.
Good layout but rough greens.
This was the first time I’ve played this Course in many years and while the clubhouse and amenities are great and the course layout is great, I really disliked the greens. They were not smooth by any means. I also disliked that they had 3 pin positions punched in the greens and just move the flag each day. This lift you sometimes having a cup between your ball and the actual cup the flag was in. Maybe they do things a little different in spring and summer.
Challenging course, good condition, sand traps are perfect. Greens are fast and difficult to read. Enjoyable course to play.
Usually play Forest Hills 2-3 times a month. Course is pretty open. Fairways are better than average for a Municipal Course. On this day, the greens were fast, easily running 11+. Played with an older member and two guys from Ohio. Really nice and enjoyable time. The Golfnow rate made this round a tremendous value.
Good
It was really nice to play there will go again and again
