Great day but slow pace!
Great day at Forest Hills. Course was in good shape. Fairways were solid and greens were consistent and smooth. Pace of play however was frustrating!! Too many players jammed on the course, yet late PM times seemed open. I do like the fact they let the play work itself out as there are no marshalls to push the pace.
This place conveys a welcoming and accommodating environment . Love playing here!!
Good/Great Course
As an Augusta resident and mid-range handicap, this course is average to slightly above for the public courses you’ll find in the Augusta area. The course is fair but still challenging ; none of the holes are ridiculous as far as layout. Some greens are small, most have multiple tiers, all wIll be faster than most are used to (however almost all quality Augusta courses pride themselves on fast greens). On days with tournaments, you may find some pin positions a bit unreasonable, but this is a rarity. The course can get out of shape (but this is normally in the dead of winter or mid to late summer). Masters week the course is typically in great shape.
On average throughout the year: Rough and Bunkers are slightly below average. Tee boxes have been improved within the last year and went from poor to average. Greens are normally in good shape.
The course is centrally located and easy to get in and out of. Amenities are good.
Overall the course is priced correctly for the quality. Masters week it will be pricy (as is everything in Augusta due to demand). But for a visiting golfer, this course is a good value most other times of the year.
If you spray the ball, ouside portions of rough can be hard so bring extra balls and keep pace. But for most average golfers the course condition and layout does not represent a reasonable excuse for bad play. This is probably the fairest course in Augusta (doesn’t give advantage to long hitters, iron or short game types and fair from all tees)
The condition of course was good n pace of play was satisfactory.
The condition of course was good n pace of play was satisfactory. Overall I felt good n enjoyed very much.
Great Course
Fun and challenging course. Need to be able to play a variety of shots to be successful. Greens were under a bit a repair in some spots but rolled well. A great overall experience.
Water sprinklers
Excellent golf course but ,please, do not turn the water sprinklers on while the is players on the field.
Improving conditions
I am a member of this fine facility and this facility has seen huge changes in the last few years. The grounds keeping of the course, the management and everyone associated with this course is outstanding. Exceptional course, and if I could play golf, I'd like it more. Well worth being a member of the best public course in the CSRA.
Worst experience ever
We played this course the week of the Masters. The rates were at least triple the regular cost because it was Master's week. That would have been easier to swallow had the course not been in such horrible condition! I should add pictures because it looks nothing like what it is on the website. We reached out to the GM of the course and he was awful!
We will never play this course again!!
Forest hill nice round
got out early, little cold but course was in good shape. Enjoyed the round
Great course for the money
We had a foursome and it was great, course has been well taken care of , staff was very professional
Water sprinkles are set to start while players are still out about 5:30 PM
Fun Layout!
Fun course layout with many elevation changes and tricky greens. Played the Monday after the Masters and the pace of play was excellent. Look forward to playing it again.
