About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Favorite course… too crowded
My favorite course in the area. Greens are always clean, although today they were a little slower than normal. Only problem is overbooked tee times. I teed off at 2:20 and got to my car at 7:30. Slowest round I have ever been subject too.

Pricey
We tee’d off at 5:18, so should’ve only been charged for 9 holes…..little much. Course was good. Will make sure only pay for 9 holes that late again….

Great course
Fairways, greens and tee boxes was great. Pace on the second round was really slow.

slow play put a damper on the round
as a two-some playing behind a 6-some who would'nt let us playt through hdd us wishing for a marshall to drive bt, our wound started at 5pm so we were only playing 9 holes. we waited a lo, and i thought they were pretty rude in fromt of us. we
re going to give it another shot todeay. please, please--- more marshalling

Chicopee Improved
The course overall was much improved over the last time I played several months back. Took several months off to prep for and ride a 45 day bicycle tour.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens in nice shape. Been doing a lot of watering. Which creates the one negative I had yesterday. Too much water in a number of places. Lots of spots in fairway, around greens just too water and soggy. Plus, grounds crew mowing right through these areas (even on green fringes) making a mess. I realize they're adding TONS of azaleas. Too many honestly. So watering the heck out of those areas generally around greens. Yes, they’re a state own non-profit so putting money back into course.
Always worth a round!

Great Course Right in My Backyard
I’ve had the chance to play this course 4x. Each time I’ve had a great experience. 3 unique 9 hiole layouts and 5 different T boxes make this a challenge for any ability level. Exceptional practice facility too.
I’ve taken two lessons from Zach and it’s really helped my game.
