About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

I play Chicopee Woods quite often and have for years. With recent upgrades and the overall shape of the course, you really can't beat it for the price. From the tee boxes to the fairways to the greens, and now with the new cart paths, everything is above Par!
Slow Pace but Great Conditions
The pace of play was super slow. I believe tee times are around 5 minutes apart which combined with players who emulate a pro golfer except for the actual score is a recipe for a 5+ hour round. I expected more from the "ranger" since the course has GPS technology. They should know which group is behind & they should have 1 shot at catching up if not, they pick up & move to the next hole.
The course is in great shape - tees & fairways are greening up nicely. The greens are a bit on the slow side in comparison to previous rounds there.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Nice course, Great staff
Nice course in Gainesville. Currently undergoing some renovations (1 working bathroom for the whole crowd). Indoor grill did not open, but they had burgers and hotdogs outside. Nice layout. Greens were in great shape. Challenging course layout. Pace of play was a little slow at 8 AM. Best part was the warm and welcoming staff!

Played Mill and Village 9s; the better 2 of the 3 available, in my opinion.
First, big kudos to the starter who informed me that I was booked with 3 slow players and he allowed me to jump out as a single...smooth sailing on the first 9 holes.
Got stuck behind 3 very slow and very poor players on the next 9, and they never even thought of asking me to play through.
The course was in very good shape, the fairways were fast, and the 1 bunker I played from was quality sand. The greens looked beautiful, rolled smoothly, but played pretty slow.
The driving range had almost no grass.

North GA’s Finest
I hate to leave a good review and have the course become saturated :) but all around best value I’ve ever had on GolfNow. Fun for all handicap levels, by far the best fairways and greens for the price range. Super friendly staff, well kept greens and under brush maintained so you can let the big dawg eat with confidence. Beautiful greens, bunkers and fairways- heck of a value!

Mill to Village
Course is really nice. I can't wait to see what it looks like during the summer months once all the grass has come back in. Played 18 as a single, got a pair that joined me off the tee. Was very enjoyable. The foursome ahead of us were a bit slow and we kept on catching up to them in very short order even after giving them almost a full hole lead. On the back 9, I lost my other group and finished up alone. Same foursome kept holding up the pace and only offered to let me play through on a par 3 while they were standing on the green waiting for me to tee off. Unfortunately, I am not that confident in my play and told them to go on ahead. Then the foursome behind me was rushing me to play while I was still waiting for those ahead of me. All in all, the course is wonderful. Just have to be aware of those playing around you.
