About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

HS golfers
Great course, since moving out this way closest to me. Really like it overall. Just wish I was told I was going off behind 9 HS groups. I have a 2 daughters and am introducing them to the game but kind of painful to take 45 minutes to get through 2holes. Cart lady told us Village was wide open and we swung out there to salvage the round which was cool ended up getting in 15 holes before 8am when they expect carts back. Might of been able to finish 18 if they were ok with 830. Will definitely be back , good course and clearly popular.
Slow
Understand golf has gotten popular. So I try to avoid the course on weekends. But on a late Tuesday afternoon, we waited on every shot. Might be the most overcrowded course in the Metro Atlanta area.

Left disappointed...
I have reviewed Chicopee Woods previously and would still rate the layout and staff, with the exception of the Ranger, as great; however, the greens were very slow again this time which impacts my Course Conditions rating. Additionally, the Ranger did nothing to move the group in front of us along and we waited on them on every hole... all day! They were at least a hole behind because they were playing from tees beyond their golfing abilities. It resulted in a five hour round and left our group disappointed as we rightfully expect more at this price point and on a weekend.

Good course but no reason for cart path only conditions
A good challenging course, a little over priced though. And certainly no reason for cart path only enforcement.

Good course
This course gets a lot of play and gets a great deal of wear. Greens are plush but there are a lot of ball marks that do no get repaired. Greens need to be cut shorter and rolled to make smoother.

Pace of Play
Course is usually in great condition, but pace of play needs addressing., we play school in about 2"30, then moved to Village, 3 groups on 1, us being 4..that is unacceptable. I went to starter hut and told them the problem, didn't seem very concerned. So we made our own decision to go to Mill. It was a little better but no much. Course has 27 holes and does get lots of play, which is why course management is a must...you guys need to get on top of this...
