Wow. When we arrived we were greeted by some of the locals, Nice guys relaxing on the patio after their round. They told us the story of the course and concluded that they were “the benefactors“ of the creator’s vision to carve out this beautiful course in the hills and fields just up the road from Hartwell Georgia. The driving range was set up the way I like it with specific targets at various distances and the putting green was in perfect shape. We took off on number one and the rest of the route we barely saw another golfer. We certainly didn’t see another structure until we got back to number nine and the clubhouse. Landscape, the beautiful card to rain and the vistas out over the Hills or simply breathtaking . After some snacks at the adorable little shack overlooking the putting green we took off on the back nine. The elevation changes were stunning at times from the tees to the par three‘s The course was both fair and challenging, a rare combination. I played one up from the tips and it ran about 6400 yards. It felt just right. It was worth every minute of the hour and a half drive from my house. I jokingly asked my wife if we could look for a house in the vicinity of the course, maybe on lake Hartwell. If we do that I’m certainly going to go back and find those nice guy who greeted us at the beginning. They seem to be a lot of fun and we’re rightfully proud of their hidden gem

The course condition was great...it’s always been good but it’s the best I’ve seen it. The fact that they had a drink cart on the course on a slow very hot weekday afternoon was a real plus....not many courses will do that. I did not like being bombarded with commercials on the nav system...seemed like every time I looked at the screen to get a distance i was seeing a commercial...annoying!! The big downside is that non members can’t use the restaurant or bar after a “Hot” day on the course...they can sit outside in the heat but not inside...make one feel like second class!!

The was a birthday weekend round and my brother and I decided that we would play only the top 25 courses in Georgia and this far Cateechee is the Best. Your staff was friendly and the cart guys were great at service. Thank you and I will be back to play again.

Course is a tad out of way from Athens but worth every second and penny of the drive. Very challenging plays like a links style course. Highly recommend

For 70 dollars the green was just punched. Putting was a nightmare. Other than that, course was nice. The course to me is worth about 45 dollars.

i have tried for over one month to get a refund/credit. my group was rained out on this date due to heavy thunderstorms in the area the course shut down. 2 of my foursome have been credited and i cannot seem to get a response. please help.

Challenging course with beautiful scenery, no homesites on the course, I’d play it again in a heartbeat.

Justin in pro shop was great. Type that will do anything to make your visit better. Course is usually in very good shape, greens are excellent speed. Only drawback is expense. Can’t charge Atlanta prices in Hartwell, Ga.

Another great day at Cateechee. Course is always in great shape. Greens were fast today! Don’t get above the ball or you’ll guarantee a 3 putt.

Although I can be a serious golfer, I love to play a course that has the level of aesthetic beauty that distracts me from the quality of my play. Other than the clubhouse and a crumbling barn off one of the fairways on the front nine, I didn't spot another man-made structure. Sweeping, undulating fairways combined with impeccably kept bunkers, greens, and fringes made for one of the most enjoyable rounds I have experienced in quite a while. If Twain had played this one, he wouldn't have considered golf a walk in the woods ruined.

We were rained out after for holes! Golfnow folks refuse to respond for a credit or rain check. I would be very careful with these folks! Cateechee was great for the four hole we saw. Will go back for sure!

Course was in excellent shape as always.

Selling lots on #10 and making it a par 3? I'd move the tee back a little farther to make it play more than 150 yards downhill.

Also build another tee on #17 and make it a par 6 to keep the course a par 72.

Great course however the course shut down after we had played four holes due to heavy rains and storms that came up. I would like to get a refund and reschedule another time to go and play the course. Great course for four holes!

This was the first time I have played Cateechee in several years. I now remember why I love the course and fun and challenging layout. I drove an hour and a half to play Cateechee and it was well worth the drive and the time.

The staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating. I love how the range balls and practice area balls are included in the greens fee price. The range and practice area is very nice and has everything you need to practice and work on your game. All the carts have GPS which is a huge help and benefit since there are many blind shots and challenging holes.

The course and surrounding area (especially driving between holes) is beautiful. The course routing takes you through hills, valleys, through woods, over streams, etc.

The greens were very nice (they had been airaited a couple weeks ago, but they are filling in very nicely. The greens were very fast. Also, the greens have tons of slopes, hills, undulations and subtle breaks. Overall, the greens are in fantastic condition and very challenging.

One of the top golf courses in the area and hard to beat. I highly recommend Cateechee.
