Laurel Island Links
About
The 18-hole Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, Georgia is a public golf course that opened in 1996. Designed by Davis Love III, Laurel Island Links measures 7011 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 138 and a 74.8 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
This design by PGA Tour player Davis Love III is quite remarkable. Laurel island resides on the banks of the vast Crooked River marsh that provides a stunning backdrop for holes two, three, and six.
The second nine roams inland working toward a secluded section of pine forest. The course is softly shaped and tinged in gentle southern atmosphere, opened in 1997. There is a light touch and quiet interaction with nature. You can play a beautiful, meditative golf at Laurel Island Links Laurel Island is approximately 25 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville take I-95 north to Georgia exit 6 and head east for two miles. Laurel Island Parkway will be on the left.

Coastal links golf is nice
Second time at Laurel Island Links. Gorgeous layout with beautiful views on a sunny day. Very friendly staff. Did notice some issues with a few greens, but still worth the trip from Saint Simons. Fairly priced.
Will return.
Nice Course
Enjoyed playing this course, nice layout and course is in good condition. One draw back was when I got to one of the tee box on the back nine the sprinklers were on in the box, and the maintenance guy did not cut them off, so I had to wait several minutes before I could tee off.
Nice course
We enjoyed our round of golf there on our way back from Florida to SC. Everything worked very well and you get a great course for your money!
Friendly stuff, good conditions, well prepared course!
Georgia Gem
Very Nice Course Plyed 18 holes in 3 hours 15 minutes. Course was nice fairways a little dry which is expected with no rain and greens were good.
Nice but....
Course layout is fun. losing some greens. Bring bug spray for the range
Relaxing
My husband & I love this course. We try to go about 3 times a month from Jacksonville, Fla. The people in the pro shop are fantastic & even the 19th hole has good sandwiches. We never feel like we are being rushed & no one has ever jumped Infront of you on the 10th tee. We play this challenging course in 3-4 hrs.. Enjoy the scenery while you play this course, we have seen gators every time we have played. The price is also great. To the staff keep up the great work !!!
Great course
Played this on a Wednesday at 10:30 and did not see a soul until #13. Course is in pretty decent condition. A couple greens and fairways could use some work but we are coming right out of winter and have been in a drought. Other than that a real fun course.
Staff are the BEST
Where to begin; from the moment you step into the ProShop you are greeted w/staff that should be cloned to other courses. We had the pleasure of joining up w/Pat (not sure of his last name) from the ProShop one day and did he ever lay the red carpet out for us. While playing hole 9 he shared w/us that he lived on the hole & if we needed refreshments he would be glad to provide us with water, soda or beer. Keep in mind this was the first time we had met. Also, the waitress & her daughter who works the bar & grille are two of the most pleasant waitresses you could ever want to have serve you. I certainly don't want to discount the rest of the Staff as I get they are off the same mold as Pat & the waitress & her daughter that I mentioned previously. The course from tee to green seems to always be in good shape & the stunning views of the intra costal waterway from holes 2, 3, 6 & 7 is spectacular. We come from Jacksonville often to play this course & if it were up to me I would be playing it much more often than I do today, mainly because of how the Staff treats you. Pat is absolutely a Southern Gentleman and has professionally shared w/me several times that I should join the club. Not pushy at all; just a gentle soul with a kindred spirit like the waitresses. Believe me I would join the course in a heart beat if I lived closer than Jacksonville.
drop in
stopped on our way north. loved it so much we are considering wintering in the area. course was great, fast true greens and all staff were fantastic. a hidden jewel.
Enjoyable Course
We've played LIL at this time of year for the past decade and always enjoy the experience. While there was a men's group of 20+ who teed off just before us -- and we were a twosome -- we found the pace of play to be quite good and finished our round in about 3 1/2 hours. As others have noted, fairways and greens are still 'greening up', although given the mild winter things are more advanced than usual for this early in the year. Excellent value and good fun.
RETIRED
Very nice layout, fairways need lots of water, very firm, nice greens except for 2 of them, looked like
fungus of some kind. For the price, worth a play.
Golf Play Laurel Islands
Since it is early in the year, fairway grass is still rejuvenating, Some Greens have mold and rough spots but overall the course plays good.
The staff is very friendly and provides professional service. I enjoy playing this course.
Good Course
Very welcoming pro shop and starter. Greens in good condition. Course has nice layout with reasonably open fairways and well placed bunkers and water hazards. Not the quickest pace of play. We have played twice, once in 4:15 and the other time in 4 hours. We played behind a 5 some yesterday without a Marshall on the course to move them along. We were delayed as a result of their slow play.
Great value
Best value in the area and a very enjoyable day! A very playable golf course without the unexpected surprises for those that don!t play there every day. Staff was great and the pace of play could not have been better. My favorite place in the area!
