Laurel Island Links
About
The 18-hole Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, Georgia is a public golf course that opened in 1996. Designed by Davis Love III, Laurel Island Links measures 7011 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 138 and a 74.8 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
This design by PGA Tour player Davis Love III is quite remarkable. Laurel island resides on the banks of the vast Crooked River marsh that provides a stunning backdrop for holes two, three, and six.
The second nine roams inland working toward a secluded section of pine forest. The course is softly shaped and tinged in gentle southern atmosphere, opened in 1997. There is a light touch and quiet interaction with nature. You can play a beautiful, meditative golf at Laurel Island Links Laurel Island is approximately 25 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville take I-95 north to Georgia exit 6 and head east for two miles. Laurel Island Parkway will be on the left.

Just beautiful
This course is just beautiful. Some of the greens were a little barren but overall just a beautiful day.
A great track
Greens were perfect.Tee boxes like concrete.Fairways, bunkers acceptable.
Didn,t know what to expect
First time ever setting foot on this track. I'm grateful for being paired with the guys that know the course so thanks to them. Didn't score well lose a couple of balls which I'm to blame. The layout is great however there are obscured hazards (first timers use yardage book). The green are a little slow to my liken and a bit trick hence my score.
Worth The Drive
We live in Fernandina Beach and although we have lovely courses here, we find the drive to Laurel Island well worth it. The greens are a little sparse but roll well, but that is the only negative. Conditions are good and the course layout is just challenging enough for amateurs of all ages. We are regulars here and recommend the course often.
Best Bang For Your Buck
The 4 in our group enjoyed this course. The quality of the greens, and fairways was excellent. We appreciated the layout of the course. We suggest using a power cart.
Nice golf course
Pace of play was great. Greens we're in great shape. Would like to see course yardage markers better positioned. Would definitely play again.
Birdman
Everything was good. Except for people riding around the course that was not playing or just ball hawking. They had no regard for the patrons on the course. We were trying to hit shots and several times in your backswing someone coming through just out riding. And they were on golf carts and bikes. Do these people understand that if a errant golf ball hits them it hurts? I say this because once we were hitting approach shots and here comes a cyclalist from behind the green. Course should limit or monitor these problems. Otherwise good experience.
Good Course Great Value
Loved the views. Greens were good. Fairways were in bad shape. Worst part was nats. We have bug bites all over us. Will not go back.
Nice conditions for Feb - very long from Tips.
This course is fairly easy with wide open fairways. The length and wind conditions can make up for it though - over 7000 from the Tips. The greens were in pretty good shape for February - not perfect but balls rolled pretty well. All in all an enjoyable day of golf.
Did I mention the wind?
Great layout, challenging holes. And then there's the wind. How is it possible to have the wind in your face on every hole, no matter which direction you are facing? Better have your knock down shots and low boring drives ready for this course. Other than a slow twosome who refused to let a single golfer pass (or even acknowledge my presence waiting on every hole), I finally joined up with some Canadian snowbirds who were really nice and fun which made the day.
Price problems
Was advertised with taxes and fees on golfnow but they tacked on almost 5 bucks at course for 'additional taxes.' If the actual price was listed As advertised I would have chose a better course like Sea Palms.
A Wonderful Course Near I-95
We drive north from Amelia Island several times per year to play this gem in South GA. It's generally quiet but is being discovered by more and more folks, so play is a bit slower than a year ago. The views and scenery are lovely, and the challenges intermittent to keep everyone on their toes.
One of my favorites
I've played this course since the first year it was open! I cut my teeth on this course, and at times with coastal winds can still play difficult!! #laurelislandlinks
Playable Course at good value.
Beautiful weather in January, 70 degrees. Greens were pretty fast considering rye grass over seeding and rolled great.
Great features & staff
Everyone was really interested in providing a truly great experience for us. Course was in excellent condition
A "links style" course.
I've played this course off and on since it first opened. Its always a pleasure to golf there. There is plenty of grass in the fairways and rough, the greens usually in good shape and enough water to make things interesting.
