Mystery Valley Golf Club

After some unpleasant experiences at another county golf club I decided to search for another. Well, my search ended at the first one I played, this one. The staff are very friendly and helpful. When I told them it was my first time there they went out of their way to direct me to different spots and answered all questions honestly and thoroughly. I was paired up with 2 older gentlemen (as I am) and enjoyed their company throughout the round. The course is challenging but very playable and well maintained. At the time of this writing its the beginning of November so keeping the fairways an greens free of leaves is very difficult but they staff has done a great job of doing so. The fairways were in great shape, the tee boxes are in remarkable shape considering the time of year, the greens need work, they seem to have grass issues and weren't consistent in their speeds.

Overall, a very pleasant experience for the first time playing there and I will be back.

Mystery Valley use to be in great conditions. It has been a few months since I’ve played here but the conditions have gone down. The greens are not in the best shape. There are dark spots and patches throughout some of the greens. Before our round started, we had to exchange golf carts twice before our 3rd one would work. The golf carts probably have not had maintenance on them for sometime. Unless you catch a hot deal, take your money elsewhere and enjoy.

The course itself is a very great layout. Dog legs right and left, different green slopes and variations, multiple tee box options. Nice bunkers, water hazards come into play on a few holes, really about anything a course could throw at you, this one has. Okay maybe not rough so bad that you'll never find your ball if you aren't in the fairway.

Only downside is the greens. While they roll true and look mostly decent, quite a few have black patches from either shade, moss or something else. They ran true regardless and I would say somewhere around an 8. Not the fastest, but better than the other muni's out here I played on.

I'd be out at this place playing every day I could if I lived closer but the drive out is time killer from anywhere other than the east side.

It’s a mystery why anyone is playing. Course conditions are terrible. Maybe it’s just that time a year, I don’t know.

Staff are super friendly and efficient. The course is a little rough regarding the lack of grass and fallen leaves. Love the layout. We will definitely be back.

Mystery Valley is a tough but fair course with lots of rolling hills. Fairways and sand traps were in excellent condition. Greens and tee boxes have been overused as is typical for this time of year. I had a very enjoyable afternoon playing with my sons.

On the course was a great relaxing round. Course was in good condition for this time of year.. Greens rolled good. It was a good time.

Pro shop & starter where helpful, cheerfull & efficient.

Course conditions are not great. Greens are rough, leaves and sticks everywhere. Pace of play was horrible, but the guys in front of us looked relatively new to the game and didn’t know to let us through. But no Marshall to regulate anything. It’s a fine, average public course, but not GolfNow 4-star worthy.

Enjoyed the layout. The greens we'll be new next year which is a good thing because the current ones were a little rough but I enjoyed playing the course.

Solid condition for this time of the year. Staff is always friendly. Layout is fun. But all that means little when the pace of play is atrocious and they do nothing to improve it. Had to give up after 14 holes after already being on the course for 4 and a half hours. Was on pace for a 6.5 hour round. Ended up skipping holes 15-18 and headed home.

Sand in traps was excellent. Greens were fast. Overall condition of tees and fairways was good. The only problems were the sanded dead spots on some of the greens and small patches of dirt without grass. However, if you play those bad places as ground under repair, the rest of the greens are very good.

You’ll love playing here. Nice long course. Greens are just a mess but it’s still worth it.

I am a huge fan of Mystery Valley but the course condition has taken a nosedive since the last time I was out. Fairways are in good shape but pretty much every green is covered in massive dead spots so you're putting half on grass and half on dirt. They are planning on re-doing all the greens next year but it is no excuse for the deplorable condition they are in now. I would have been livid if I had paid full price and I will definitely not be back until I hear the repairs are completed

There were fairways that were patchy, the greens were patchy but still rolled pretty well. The staff were very friendly which is always a plus. We played 18 in under 4 hours without rushing. There are signs that they will be renovating the greens so hopefully that issue will be solved. I'm sure we'll be back as overall it's still a good course.
