About
Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

Sand Traps Under Renovation
Great muni course. Greens are fast and smooth. Fairways are fine, but some bare spots and some weeds. Some of the tee boxes are a little bare; probably need more sun. Snack bar has a dozen or so items including hot dogs and beer, but I didn’t buy anything. One big plus that most courses are missing-they have showers!
Coming around
Greens were aerated and sandy but still rolled well. Bunkers were being redone. Glad they're putting some money into the course as it's a really fun layout

Slow pace of play
Mystery Valley is a very nice course but habitually slow pace of play.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Mystery Valley Improvements
Mystery Valley has new sand in its bunkers, making sand shots a lot fairer than in the past. Fairways are "greening up", too. The greens were medium speed -- somewhat fast downhill, slow uphill. They showed sanded plug holes from recent aeration, but that didn't have any effect on putts. The only downside to our otherwise excellent day was that we followed a "tournament", making our usual sub-4 hour round closer to 5 hours.

Conditions
Conditions were very bad. Not worth $45 whatsoever. Bunkers were essentially concrete. Branches everywhere. Greens were covered in gum balls and pine straw

Don’t book on golfnow
Golf now tee times don’t show up in their system. They double booked our tee time as a result. Just call the clubhouse instead, it’s the same price

Very well laid out course
Very playable from senior markers. Tee boxes could use some TLC. Teeing area especially on Par 3 holes had no grass and were very sandy.
Overall a pleasure to play this well laid out course with friendly staff

Bad day to play course under repair
Love playing here but today wasn’t the day. Greens were awful due to aeration. Pace of play was awful. I had to skip3 holes or it would’ve been a 5 hour round and I was playing by myself… too many slow folks out there and that’s not for me on a week day… folks at clubhouse are nice but he didn’t tell me about the greens either…. I’m not that old but this course has a lot of 75 and older folks that play here so beware when you book this place.

Where was the aeration warning
Everything was good except not getting an aeration warning from golfnow when I booked the tee time. Understand that it is needed but a warning would have been much appreciated. Staff was great.

Golf Now was a BIG mistake
All 4 of us got to the course but Golf Now had not notified the course and there were two tournaments starting. Golf Now never submitted their tee sheet to the course.
Big failure on Gol Now's part.
Beautiful and fun course
I'm not a big golfer, but enjoy playing this with my family. It's beautiful with so much water and so many trees, and the course flows well. The staff is very friendly, and it's a great value, especially compared to some of the other private courses.

Golf Now failed me
Golf now failed to flag their special about recently aerated greens and no sand traps and cart path only. No warnings or discounts for sub par course conditions. Mystery valley is a great course. Golf now should know better

Overbooked
They didn’t have carts available, there were two foursomes in front of us. The first one was not on time but were given golf carts while they waited 30 minutes for the rest of their party to show. When they finally teed off hole 1-3 were empty. They should’ve given the carts to the parties that were responsible and showed up on time. My partner and I would’ve gone off at the correct time as well as the group in between us and the tardy foursome. It will be a LONG time before I go back if at all.
