About
Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

Less than average
Online pictures looked fabulous. I drove 40 mins to try the course. In reality: Good driving range. Torn up tee boxes. less than average fairways, neglected sand traps and greens were average. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Extremely over booked.
Well first you run out of carts. Once you get carts in you allow a group that is over 30 minutes late to hold up everyone else’s tee time. This used to be one favorite fun course, it’s now on the list of places to avoid.

Course layout is nice, elevation changes and a few dogleg. I'm not from these parts so it's nice to have some cushion even tho the grass is dormant. The day I played, it rained night before so cart path only and some mud/pooling. I enjoyed my round, very nice staff.

Interesting course with great value
Teed off at 209pm on a super busy 70 degree Saturday afternoon. They were turning carts due to volume and we had to wait a few minutes but it wasn’t a problem. For a dormant course in winter condition I thought it was in great shape. Greens fast and smooth. Each staff member was friendly and cool. No beer cart but I still highly recommend.

Reliably Good
It had just stopped after 2 straight days of rain, but it dried off as I played. For a wet winter day, the course played great. It's an interesting wooded layout, with a good amount of variety of short and long, uphill and downhill. The bunkers are gone--they were lakes. But the greens roll nicely. A solid public course in DeKalb County.
