Excellent for March
We've played Trident Lakes often when we've been in this area on holidays and have always enjoyed it. This year, perhaps because of the mild winter, the course was in better shape than in any year we can remember. The greens were in particularly good condition, although a bit too slow for our liking. Overall, a good and relatively inexpensive experience.
Not bad course for all level of play
Staff at proshop not attentative. Gave golf cart number but did not hand over key. Had to return and ask for it.
Ok for the average hacker
This course is just fine for the average hacker, but not for the avid golfer. I will give them credit, although slow the greens were in great shape. Personally will only return if I play with some hacker friends.
TRIDENT
Great course, some challenging holes! Staff was very helpful & efficient! Visiting from Ohio & will be back again! Thanks
Very nice course, overall good value and fun to play. Great layout and well maintained.
Good deal
Nice course with open fairways. Greens were slow and pro shop not real friendly and food service was closed when we finished at 2:30. For a hot deal this was great value
Great Rate Golf
I love playing this course. A couple course challenges, but nothing to extreme. My only gripe is the ball washers not having any fluid in them. Something so small could ruin a great golf day. This is a reoccurring issue I have with this course. Please put fluid in the washers. Thank You!
Thanksgiving Round
As always, an enjoyable round. Was not busy at all today, being Thanksgiving, and the course was in excellent shape. With the warm weather, the wildlife was out enjoying the course as well. Enjoyed as always.
Typical Arthur Hills
The course is in very good condition, and is typical of the designer's layouts...you miss the fairway by 15 yards, or try to hit it where you are not certain of what is on the other side...you are going to be sad. Not to say it is tricky, just make sure you study they score card and try to determine the best strategy for that hole. The greens are in decent shape, getting ready for over seed conditions, so they are going to be slow more than likely in the near future.
4 days after Hurricane mathew
Strong north winds made it a challenge . No standing water, nice fairway grass and greens.
Couldn't tell there was a hurricane 4 days earlier. Good pace of play.
I drive 40 minutes to this course
I love playing this course very fun and greens are good
a challenging but wide open course
Course plays wide open and greens were not extremely fast but yet a good challenging .
Great course - very slow greens
A must play if you're in the area. Great prices. Played Sunday morning at 9. played in just over 3 hours. Only down side is you really have to hit the puts. slow greens.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced.
The last 4 times I have played here there have been groups of 3-5 people that did not understand golf etiquette to allow us faster players to play through. Today was the worst yet, so much so I felt compelled to call the club house on the 9th hole. The men, were causing a jam up from the first hole, hitting multiple balls a piece, and taking ridiculous time to look in the woods and water for lost balls. Not to mention, they were loud, and heavily intoxicated. When I talked to Alan, in the club house about the current situation I was facing he said, "Well I can refund your back 9, and you can just not play anymore." Those were his exact words. When I asked about sending a ranger to enforce pace, rules, or just basic decency, I was laughed at. The most atrocious customer service I have ever experienced.
Great Value
Tee to green this course was in great shape on 7/30/16. Greens looked great but slower than what I usually play. If they had been 9 or higher on the stimp this would have been an unbelievable value.
There was an MGA group that had the right of way and that included a fivesome. But they moved at a good pace and we paired up with another twosome so the pace of play was great, under 4 hours.
Pay close attention to the lakes near the green. You may not be able to tell from the fairway that they are further out toward the front of the green. Also on #9, it's good advice to hit your tee shot well short of the trouble left, and the dropoff right.
Good practice area, nice shop, we did not stop in for food/drink so I can't help you there. I think they were remodeling the bar/food area.
This place is all about the golf. Fairways are ample on most holes. Lots of wildlife including a couple of gators so be alert. Good idea to have bug spray too.
Our GPS took us to the wrong Naval base entrance. I believe the correct one is the Jackson Road entrance. Guards will ask for driver's i.d...
Worth the drive
We drove from Brunswick, around 40 miles, and it was worth the effort. Very pleasant course in good condition, and not too tough for our standard of play
A gem in the Kinglsand/St Marys area
Trident is an average guy's/gal's gem in the area. The reasonable rates, friendly staff, moderately difficult course, and generally good course conditions make this a great place to enjoy a casual round of golf. Right now the other two courses in the area have deep trouble with their greens, but Trident has kept theirs in decent condition and continues to weather the high heat of the summer! I would give it a try if you are in the area, the military makes it pretty easy to get on the course as a civilian and the pace of play is usually pretty good.
Great value for the money
Tee to green, great course. Greens are coming along as they aerated a few weeks ago but the conditions were great. Not a hard course but a few difficult par 3s, number 6 and 13.
