Country Club of Miami - West
About
The Country Club of Miami, located near residential areas, boasts two courses, the East Course and the West Course. Both golf courses at the club have seen many famous players including Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, and Jack Nicklaus. The West Course features rolling greens as well as many strategically placed bunkers. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. The course is very well maintained and provides a good game for players of any skill level. Conveniently, the golf club has a large pitting, putting, and chipping area where golfers can work on their short game and there is also a grass driving range.

A piece of history
This Is a Robert Trent Jones design with 2, 18 hole courses . It has a rich history from the 60's with famed Celebrity members and hall of fame golfers playing here.
The West course has plenty of water making shot selection off the tee a premium,. While not being overly punitive you do have to think about where to place your ball and club selection. I found the layout to be very nice and and very manageable. From the white tees all the greens were reachable in regulation. The course does get a lot of play as do most of the public courses. The conditions were good. Most greens were in good shape although a couple looked as though they had been recently reseeded and sandeded
Same thing for the tee boxes most pretty good. The pace of play for me was excellent . I played as a single and my paring did nor show so I went solo and Quickley was allowed to play through two groups I finished in under 4 hours on a Saturday.. I will definitely play the course again
I found it a good value for the money
Decent course but not worth the money
Course isn’t in horrible condition, although some of the greens are. The main issue here is the pace of play, they let out groups of whatever size and almost always overbook. Didn’t even start the back nine because there were so many groups ahead of me it wouldn’t have been enjoyable
They did not inform us that the greens were all sanded . Had trouble putting no consistency . Golf now should have been informed and we would have not been as frustrated
Leave putter home
It's a shame to see the deterioration of this course. Greens are terrible, more weeds than grass in the fairways. Should not be classified as a golf course.
Poor Greens. Lacking Amenities
I live nearby and used to frequent this course a lot. Played the West course and the greens are in terrible condition. Sand, dirt, and patchy grass make the greens unplayable.
Also, bar was not open and serving for early morning tee times. Such a wasted opportunity.
MORE SAND ON GREENS THEN BUNKER
one of the worst courses i’ve played in my life and i have over 100 courses played. Mostly munis too this was atrocious if you hit the green you had to use a S wedge
Terrible greens
The greens were atrocious! Burned out patches (some, almost the entire green), not properly cut (appears that they did not overlap the mower passes so you have lines of long grass separating shorter grass and you have to put through the longe grass)…disgusting to have paid good money to play on greens like these
Overall course not in best conditions especially the greens. I will say course payable for price
Good course with bad greens
The course, the people who were there, the carta are really very good but they need to improve their greens.
This course needs lots of attention
Courses very dry. It’s like playing on dirt. Fairways are the worst. The greens are horrible. Have you not been mowed!
