About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Finally Made It To Finley
I'm a UNC alumni, Class of 91, and this was my first time playing the course. My wife and I are both beginning golfers and we really enjoyed the course. We will definitely come back, maybe when it is a bit cooler, since it was 85 degrees this time around.

Good overall
A good course, definitely one of the best non-private courses in the area. Just a little bit over watered, particularly on the driving range. Probably would have preferred to pay about $75 instead of $90 for what we got but still a great place

Great time
First time playing, thought the course was in great shape. Great staff, the starter Kirk provided a great overview. Nice relaxed pace of play and finished in just under 4 hrs

Excellent golf course. Tough but fair. From tee to green the course is awesome. Golf Shop very professional and positive. Very nice putting, chipping and driving range. I will come back for sure.

Must play if you’re in the area
Loved the layout and playability. Challenging holes but wide corridors so plenty of room for recoveries. Pace was about 4.5 which is what’s expected but we were waiting on every shot so I figure the pace of play could be faster. Summer conditions are soft to keep the grass healthy so I can’t wait to get back in the fall or spring. Greens are very fun and as a northerner I was happy to play bent grass after 5 rounds on Bermuda. The closing stretch across the road is fantastic. Would love to see some trees cleared along right side of 17 as they block out drive or just move the tees to the left. Amazing green though and could play as completely different holes based on hole location. 18 is sort of anticlimactic but would be a good hole anywhere else. Heard 10 & 11 are being used for new practice facility which is good news to me. Loved the greens but tee shots are too tight with bunkers and woods on outside of hard doglegs. Fazio designed a great golf course which is much more strategic than it initially appears.

Fun, great shape., but slow
Was a single and matched with 2 members. They weee fun and helpful per knowledge of the holes. Pace of play was very slow and didn’t see a ranger address the fivesome causing the delays. Nonetheless, nice greens and fairways,

Warm July round
The course is in great shape. A little wet from previous rains slowed down the greens. Carts on path but everyone kept up a good pace of play, Hot and humid, typical July day in the south.

Trifecta
We came into town from Delaware and played NC State (Lonnie Poole), Duke and UNC Finley. Finley was the surprise gem of the three. Great conditions, great layout, great staff. Cannot wait to return.

Pace of play interfered with my enjoyment, and I walked off after 9 holes (which took 2h 40 min).
Water coolers were empty on a morning with high temp and humidity.
