The Wizard Golf Course

Excellent conditions of the 3 courses we played all week (TPC Myrtle Beach, Blackmoor and The Wizard). The value was excellent with your round you get a sandwich/2hotdogs and 2 drinks. Course staff as soon as we were done with each hole they were checking each greens moisture and watering as needed.

The course conditions were the best I’ve seen in years. Fairways, greens, tee boxes, cart paths, you name it - all in pristine condition. And, we basically had the course to ourselves. Wizard calls itself a Scottish style course, and its clubhouse reflects it. I booked our tee time through Golf Now, and our round included lunch and two drinks, plus a $10 discount on anything in the pro shop.

What a great experience at The Wizard Golf Club! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome, and the course did not disappoint. The layout is one of the most enjoyable we’ve played in the Myrtle Beach area. Every hole has its own character, making for a fun and memorable round from start to finish.

The course conditions were excellent. The fairways were in great shape, the greens rolled true, and the entire property was very well maintained. We especially appreciated how playable the course was while still providing enough challenge to keep us thinking on every shot.

The scenery and overall atmosphere added to the experience, and the pace of play was enjoyable. It’s easy to see why so many golfers return here year after year.

We had a fantastic time and can confidently say The Wizard will be on our regular rotation whenever we’re visiting the Myrtle Beach area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-maintained, fun, and enjoyable round of golf.

Conditions were great, greens in excellent shape. Pace was a little slow but we finished in 4:15 so no complaints. Nice to get a deal with lunch and drinks included. We appreciated the openness of the course, especially as compared to many others in the area which are often very tight. Would definitely play again.

I would definitely play this course again, and I will play sister course man-o-war next visit. Because Wizard only has a few holes with water, this course was a warmup course for others during our stay. My wife and son only golf 4-6 times per year, and this course was very enjoyable for them. My ball got eaten by several ditches, and I think that alone could cut 8 strokes if I had time to play again. Greens were predictable and in good shape. Fairways were recently punched and roll out was tough due more to rain. I was glad this course had a practice range, and balls were only $5 per bag. The Pro was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Cart lady was attentive. Our round came with 2-beers and lunch. The snack shop was friendly and thoughtful. Snack lady handed me the beers in a bag of ice without me asking. A very playable course with several seen and unseen challenges. We had a great day.

Well maintained. Greens were nearly recovered from an aeration that appeared to be a few weeks old. Putted fairly well most of the time but not perfect. Fairways and rough were good. Had two fivesomes playing in front of us which really slowed up pace of play but still finished in about 4 1/2 hours. Appreciated the lunch and drinks included in the price. We would play it again. Preferably with no fivesomes in front of us.

My wife and and I played as a twosome. There is plenty of opportunity to hit the driver and bomb it if you are reasonably accurate and don't hit a large fade/slice. We got coupons for 2 hot dogs or 1 sandwich + two beers. This was a pay at the course reservation. Make sure you get the quoted rate as there was some confusion when we paid for our round.

The wizard is a fantastic course, challenging and great lay out. It reminds me of playing in Scotland.

Fairways are good, very disappointing that they plug greens and tell no one and don’t discount the price. The deal included lunch which was a choice of a cold sandwich or hot dog. Don’t bother. Overpriced for condition of greens. Golfnow has some responsibility to know what they are selling.

I cannot say enough about the Wizard and the beautiful condition tge course was (is), and I cannot say enough about the incredible staff and how nice they are. If you want to play a really nice course that can be challenging at times, the Wizard will fit the bill. I have played there before, and I will definitely play there again!
