Golfer Reviews
Will Definitely be playing here OFTEN!
This course was very nice! In a gated community, I was surprised by the pricing. It was a very beautiful course. Well kept, putting felt like putting, and pace of play was FAST! Finished my round in less than 4 hours in a group of 3. I felt the course was a solid challenge and I would definitely be trying it from a tee back, this time!
Overall, I felt the course was probably the best in the immediate area and will definitely be coming here more often!
Course
Really great course always has been. People are friendly. The pace of the game is always depending on the people that are in front of you yesterday the pace was fantastic. Overall great day would definitely recommend this course through anyone.
Slow
Poor pace of play, mostly due to the tight spacing on the tee times. Bunkers are concrete. Saw the cart girl once. And the range was in terrible condition. All that being said, the layout is challenging but fun. Greens were in good shape.
Greens slowest ever
I get it, it’s summer and hot. These greens were the slowest I have ever played. Burned up fairways. Dude passed out in clubhouse when we were making the turn. Barfed all over the floor.
Chimera is just ok
This course hasn’t changed much in 20 years when it was called Tuscany. The shape of the course is always iffy. Grainy greens, random bare spots on fairways and rough. Some sand traps had sand, but most were hard dirt. Easy layout. It’s not a course I would play more than once or twice a year.
Last state of the lower 48 played.
Course layout was very nice. Greens rolled very good, maybe a little slow. Group I played with was really enjoyable and had a good time.
As mentioned in my title Nevada was the last state in the lower 48 I needed to play. With Golf Now being used to make most of the tee times.
Good condition overall. Some bare areas around some of the greens, but understandable considering the summer heat.. Pace was good...3:30 playing as a twosome and waiting on every shot. A lot more people than I expected considering it was 115 degrees 😀
Great course and even better staff
The cause was very nice, excellent maintained and the staff was very friendly.
Water stations
I had to stop playing after 16 holes because I ran out of water several holes back and never saw the beverage cart on the back nine. There wasnt a cloud in the sky and it was 105 degrees and there are very little trees to provide shade between holes.Pretty sure heat stroke was setting in.
Has Great Potential
The course seems young and needs to mature. There is a temporary structure for the 19th hole and the pro shop. The practice area leaves a bit desired. The practice putting green as about the size of a typical bedroom. The pitching/chipping green was being renovated, so it was closed. The driving range was "Mats only," with nothing to support a tee shot...just a flat mat to hit from. So no need to factor in any practice time before heading out on the course. The course was a fun, but not very challenging layout. The greens were in good condition, but could be cut lower or rolled. Putting on them was like putting on 1/4" astroturf. Expect short delicate putts to not hold their line. You can hear the ball rolling over the tips of the grass...sort of like putting on 100 grain sandpaper. The greens need water too. The fairways were spotty, needing attention to get a smooth playing surface. Often one is better off being in the rough, as it is not rough and does have grass. I'd give it a few months and try again in maybe October/November.
Always dependable
Booked another round and the course was in great shape. I played in the afternoon and had friendly beverage cart service during the round which is so important. I breezed through the front 9 in 90 minutes and thanks to some congestion the back 9 was 2 hours 30 minutes. No fault of the course just way too many people playing with no clue. The greens were true and fast and the fairways in great shape. You cannot beat this course for the summer rates because it's in really good shape. I always enjoy playing here. It's a great layout and forgiving.
