I drove 70 miles to try out this course - it was well worth the drive! First of all, I got a tee-time thru Golf Now for $23. Can't beat that. Got paired up with 3 other guys who were really nice/golf knowledgeable. Not sure where all the other negative reviews about an unfriendly staff came from - the guy in the pro shop was very accommodating when I explained that it was my first time there. I saw the beverage cart 3 times in about 12 holes. No marshall, but pace of play was great. The course is in great shape. The greens are the teeth of this course - seems like every one had either a false front, or 1 or 2 big 3;'-4' swales strategically located somewhere on the surface. You can easily 3 or 4 putt if you are on the wrong side of the hole.. The greens are in excellent shape, and they are huge. Note the wind direction and the uphill/downhill shots as the stated yardage can cause you to hit a club too much/not enough. Good variety of holes. Some water, many traps I really don't see this as a tour quality course, but maybe it was immaculate when they held the GGO here? Anyway, I will go back to play here.

Played this course several years ago when it was having major problems and it has definitely improved. Fairways were very good for this time of the year and greens were also good even though they had been aerated 3+ weeks ago. Slow play is still an issue as it took us almost 5 hrs and they had a marshall riding around. Maybe he wasn't assertive enough?? At these prices it's a good value.

This is the closest to a PGA Tour set up course. The fairways are good and the greens have great levels and breaks to challenge. Great views site lines and enjoyable to play.

I played this course several times last year but this was the first time this year. The course conditions were much worse as compared to last year but it appears they are starting to work on it. My major complaint was one of the staff members in the pro shop was very arrogant and rude. My friend who is 75 years old also overheard this person laughing with another staff member about a senior almost falling over items in the pro shop. This person should be glad the course is back open since near bankruptcy and that he has a job. I will not be going back to Forest Oaks anytime soon and will not recommend it as I have in the past.

I know the greens were punched last week but still roll better than most courses that are not.

We were very impressed by the course. Definitely top notch and for the price we paid it was a tremendous value. Fairways greens and bunkers were in excellent conditions. We will be back.

I used to walk this course during the GGO and Chrysler ( now Wyndham )tournament was being played here. Very nice redesign in the early 00's (Davis love III). It was in great shape the only thing lacking was adequate food and drink. They had a grill that did not open and a cooler with very limited beverages, virtually no food. The staff was not so good. We would go back but only for the immaculate course and memories. No aerofixation alert! The greens were punched but rolled true.

I've played a lot of courses in Myrtle Beach and Pinehurst and this course beats them all. It'sgreat to have affordable access to a course of this caliber right down the road. Some of the cart paths could use a little work but otherwise the course is in great shape.

Forest Oaks is easily a top 5 course in the Triad. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition and despite the wet winter, the putting surfaces were fast, as anticipated. I was able to secure one of the few Hot Deals available through GolfNow.com, but in terms of the quality of the course, I should have paid triple what I did. The course is challenging without being overly difficult for the average golfer. Stop wasting time reading this review and book a tee time already!

Fairways were in great condition. Plenty of green grass and great lies. The greens were fast and true to the read. For March 23rd in North Carolina the course was in great shape. I will be going back soon.

Course in GREAT shape and one of the top in the area. Greens in Great shape and fairways are over-seeded and green. Expect the pace of play to be slow. Our tee time was for 1:15 and we did not get to hit until 1:35. We were on the course to dark which added up to a almost 6 hour round. It was not due to difficultly. It was due to so many people stacked in the same time frame. We asked if we could tee of from the 10th tee but were denied.

Great Condition during the winter months greens were fast and pure. Staff is friendly and approachable as usual. Great track to test your game on former PGA course (ggcc/wyndam championships) and the value is unmatched.

Course was in great condition for March especially after all the rain and winter weather previous. It was rather windy when I played, no fault of the course, and that made some of the holes really difficult. And the greens are just as fast as you would figure them to be on a past PGA course. Plenty of water available on course. Very nice electric carts. Layout is easy to follow and multiple teeing areas (Championship, Green, White, Yellow and Red). All in all a great round.

Great conditions, value and pace of play. Attendant added a $2 gratuity to the green fee which was misleading. Not sure what it was for.

Great track, great greens. We really enjoyed the golf. No food on Mondays.... Staff seemed disinterested . With this being our first visit a little local input would always be nice......
