Great value
For $39 on a weekend morning this course is a great value. Played the Piper and Bay nines. Nice layout and very fair from the red tees for our group of older women. Fairways were in good shape as were the hard and fast greens. Some pin placements on slopes were aggravating but that's golf. The pace was surprisingly good for the volume. Finished in just over 4 hours. Even the grill was a good value. We paid $5 For 2 hotdogs, a drink and a chip bag which we split among each twosome. At my home course that special would be at least $10. I was very pleased with the whole deal since I picked the course!
Very interesting layout and conditions
Played with a member and enjoyed our day. Course was very interesting and challenging. Greens were excellent. About 4 guys managing the starter shack with a large group getting ready to play. So I was getting directions by committee as to when and where we would go off (there are three 9's). One guy got really upset about me putting my and my wife's clubs on one of 10 empty carts and actually started taking them off!! Another starter told him to put them back. Annoying but kind of funny too. I don't need the whole faux Augusta National treatment, I just came to play golf.
Nice relaxing course
Beat up on by some of the other courses it felt good to relax and enjoy your round of golf. Great for the average golfer that wants to feel good about himself again. Played with a local couple FM and they were delightful.
Great value
Great value for your money. Very nicely conditioned gets a lot of play expect 4 to 4 1/2 hours per round.
Great Course
Weather was perfect and so was the condition of the course, both fairways and greens. Could not have been a better day for golf on a great course and friendly staff.
Great course fun to play
Great course fun to play, as far as I’m concerned Sandpiper Bay is one of the best courses in the area and is a wonderful value for the money. Would play it once a week if I could
Sandpiper supreme
This may be the best quality course in the area. Been coming here for twenty years and this was the first time to play. Would play here every day if I could
Best greens
Great course for all skill levels. Best and most consistent greens to putt on regardless of when you play here
Best course in Myrtle Beach area
I have played this course for 3 days in a row. The management even let me play out of the normal rotation to accommodate me being a single and to speed up my pace of play as I was having to wait on the foursome in front of me on the previous nine.
The course IS ALWAYS IN GREAT SHAPE!!
It even beats some more expensive courses. I will continue to play here every trip to Myrtle Beach. Thanks for all of the hard work of the staff.
Overbooked
Very disappointed
We were 50 minutes past our tee off time. The course had overbooked and there were not enough carts. Play was slow and we had to re arrange our dinner reservation because of the delayed start. Should have asked for a rain check but it wasn't,t raining. Will not go back
Great course
Great condition. Fairways groomed. Greens roll true
Nice straight forward golf course
Course was in good shape and greens were very good and consistent. I will definitely play here again.
Great course. Would like to see marshals speed up slow players
Nice course good value
Layout and conditions were good. Pace of play was less than 4 hours. Great Value, will play again.
Great Greens
The course was in very good shape and the greens were rolling true. Staff was professional and wanted to please,
Played all 3 - 9's
We played all 3 of the 9 hole courses at Sandpiper Bay , actually came back for another round , it was that nice . Everything was very good , from course conditions , driving range , pace of play , even on course beverage cart . One of the starters came to our car to welcome us and get our bags . That is exactly what you expect when you come to an area known to be a golf course destination . Worth the ride if you are staying in Myrtle Beach , just take Rt 17 north . We played the Barefoot Fazio course the day after Sandpiper and were totally disappointed by the condition of the course and people that worked there . Put Sandpiper Bay on your list if you need a course to play , Piper & Bay 9's were the better two .
Replay!
Great greens, the fastest and smoothest in the area.
27 Holes, excellent deal on a 9 hole replay.
Free range balls!
Friendly and hard working staff.
Yes, part of being a golf professional is playing golf.
Wait... aren't you the same person that posted as the "Head Professional" at Sandpiper? Are you now reviewing your own course???
from Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick;
Sandpiper Bay is a 27 hole facility with 3 different combinations of 18 holes. Our tee times are 8 minute intervals with only a two hour window of bookings.
During busy season we do our best to accommodate all golfers from members, hotel players, and locals.
Larger groups on vacation tend to play slower as they are new to the course.
Please notify the Golf Shop of slow play and we will have our ranger or professional address the issue.
