Rio Pinar Golf

We were keeping pace the whole time, but the ranger was on us for no reason at all. It got annoying real quick and honestly ruined the experience. Course conditions were terrible too, fairways and greens were in rough shape. Not worth $70 a person and won’t be coming back.

whenever we are in Orlando we always try and play at Rio. The course layout is interesting and the greens are fast but true with lots of undulation. never boring!

wasn't quite sure which SI to use as the card showed different SI to the electronic card but we went off the card ones.

If you’re looking for rude front-desk staff, no pace-of-play enforcement, and a round of golf that feels more chaotic than relaxing, this is the course for you.

There were no rangers on the course, groups stacked up everywhere, and tensions getting high to the point it felt like fights were about to break out. Completely unacceptable.

The owner showed zero respect for customers and instead of fixing the problems, tried to brush it off by offering a free drink at the bar. That doesn’t make up for poor management and a bad experience.

Plenty of better courses out there. I won’t be back.

Clean, reasonably priced, well maintained and challenging. Staff was friendly and informative.

Played here a year ago and still love it. The course is in excellent condition with GPS carts. Greens are fast but true. The entire club is very welcoming and the course has a good layout.

Somebody recommended to me that I go play there and Boy am I forever grateful they did!

First class all the way from the moment I walked into the moment I left, which included a meal, I enjoyed every moment I was there. What a great test of golf that golf courses is!

I brought two guest with me and as soon as we got in the car to go back home, we were looking to reschedule another round there!

I’m grateful to the staff and all the grounds crew who make this golf course such an enjoyable place to play!!!!

In general one of the best greens in the area, they need to improve on the tee boxes because they are not flat at all some of them , the food on the restaurant is one of the best , even though my order wasn’t that good my partner order smash burger really good .

Been playing this course for years and so awesome to see this property transform into a 5 star. Only thing I would encourage is to improve the bunker materials (sand). Greens and fairways are in excellent condition, keep your maintenance team! Outstanding! Can’t wait to get back.

One of the best value courses around. I must’ve missed something because the greens were recently cut and heavily sanded, which I don’t recall seeing when I booked the reservation. It definitely affected my interest in playing the round

Owner is rude/incompetent and out of touch with what needs to be done around the course.

Junior tournaments here are the worst. They let them do basically anything they want. Multiple groups of 5 or more all walking kids that don’t take care of the course but they are the priority over you in managements eyes. 4 groups waiting on juniors on the tee box and the rangers say they can’t speed them up. Wouldn’t have been a problem if they didn’t insist we start off the back right behind the group of juniors. Like what kind of logic is that to start sending groups that are checking in when your junior practice is making the turn.

Most employees are great. Starters and owner not so much. Seems like the going trend right now for Rio. Course is ok. Often overbooked for tournaments and the staff couldn’t care less if you’re not part of the tournament. Owner was extremely rude to me when I was chipping in one of the three practices areas that are not marked with no chipping. He asked me once not to chip there I said ok and started to leave then he told me 6 more times I need to leave as I was already leaving. Packed my things and put my bag around the corner and tried to walk in after the guy. Watched him yell at the employee then ran to hide in his office when I walked in the door and he wouldn’t come out and talk to me. No signs that say no chipping, about 30-40 divots around the “non chipping” green, multiple putters not saying anything to me about no chipping.

How does the owner hide in the office during a tournament and only goes out to yell at the one guy chipping who is not in the tournament. Also when it looks like the whole tournament messed up the fringe of the practice green.

Thought I would calm down after a month and my reviews getting taken down on google, apparently not.

Will never return to this course until there is a new owner.

The fairways and greens were beautiful the staff were all amazing and friendly.

The only downfall was the backup on the back nine e of the course. There were three groups on each hole in the back nine which made it very frustrating

Course is a good layout, conditions were very good , many holes have been renumbered , golf watch is not lined up. Other wise very good experience.

I played Rio Pinar Golf Course on September 6, 2025, with a 10:42am tee time. I’ve always appreciated this course for its close location—just seven minutes from my home—and I hadn’t played it in about seven months. While I can say the course has made some improvements with new carts and better facilities, my latest experience was extremely disappointing.

The service at check-in has never been great here, but what happened this time was beyond anything I’ve dealt with.

As I was preparing to play the

first tee, one of the starters came over and accused me of not paying. I showed him my GolfNow confirmation on my phone, which clearly showed I had checked in and paid. Rather than apologizing for the mistake, he brushed it off and made another comment about pairing me with two players who had been “causing problems earlier in the day,” warning me they were grouchy.

Sure enough, those players resisted joining our group, but the staff forced the issue. Unfortunately, they played extremely slow, to the point where another staff member had to tell them to pick up the pace. Instead of complying, they argued with him and nearly escalated into a physical confrontation. I ended up moving ahead and finished two holes ahead of them, but the entire round was overshadowed by their behavior and the lack of any real management by the course staff.

By the end, my golf day was ruined. It may be only seven minutes from my front door, but I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon. Between poor customer service, confrontational players, and staff who fail to handle situations properly, I’ll be choosing from the four other golf courses within 15 minutes of my house instead.

They had a tournament going on so made the round longer than usual, we had to wait for 3 foursomes to go by before we could even start our round and got paired up with another twosome, these guys were playing from the blue tees but should not have been and just play from the whites with us, then the marshal comes up saying they are back up on the 7th hole we just finished and to speed up play, we had to wait for a foursome on the hole before we could even tee off so not sure why he was giving us grief and we were not playing slow and keeping up with the group ahead of us but that pretty much was the icing on the cake, I wish I would have known they had a tournament going on and would have booked for another day as it pretty much ruined the experience and staff were rude and could care less if you were not playing in the tournament, won't be going back.

The course was in great shape, greens were awesome. The starter and staff inside the clubhouse were great, however the grounds crew leadership was extremely rude, hollering at us while playing about “not backing out by going forward,” whatever that means.
