Rio pinar
Course was in great shape only problem was the heat
Great round on a Saturday
Great value. Course is in very good condition. Greens aerated a few weeks ago but are true and relatively quick. Great place to get in a round
Poor customer service
My buddy and I played a round here recently and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience—not because of the course itself, but because of the staff. Despite having to wait on nearly every hole for the group in front of us, a staff member approached us twice—once at the turn—and told us, word-for-word, “you’re not good enough to play from these tees.” For context, I’m a ~10 handicap and my friend is newer to the game, but we were playing at a perfectly reasonable pace considering the course traffic.
The same staff member also told us to “hurry up” because we were supposedly holding up the group behind us—even though we had to wait to hit most of our shots. His tone was rude, condescending, and completely uncalled for.
We couldn’t help but feel like we were being unfairly targeted. As a Hispanic man and a Black man trying to enjoy a round of golf, this experience left a sour taste in our mouths. Golf should be welcoming and inclusive. Unfortunately, this staff member made us feel the opposite.
Rio Pinar, 1st time
Certainly not the last! Course conditions were good, and the layout was beautiful. Some tough greens, and I didn't plat them too well, but I enjoyed the experience. Club house/dining room was excellent. Great food and varied menu.
Rocking rio
Great course. Had a great time. Staff were extra friendly. . Would definitely recommend to friends. Keep up the good work. .

Good Shape
I was pleasantly surprised by Rio's conditions. Soft fwys in particular. Greens were ok and had been recently punched. Tee boxes were ok as well.
Slow play
Over booked as usual, gave up after 31/2hrs to get through 12 holes. Drive in found 4some with 4 holes open ahead of them, saw ranger on course several times, never did anything to speed them up or let faster player through.
Rio looking goiod
I have played Rio many times over the past 39years and it has had its ups and downs . Over the last 2 +years the ownership has done a fantastic job job revitalizing the course and the club house. If you want to see some golf history Rio is the place to go
Other than the greens being in the shape you would expect from recent aeration the course was great
Rio pinar
Since the course was taken over by new management the golf course is in excellent shape
Rio Is Back!
I played Rio on 6/1/25.
Yes - there has been plenty of rain.
Yes - the greens had recently been punched which didn't make putting impossible, just inconsistent.
Everything else was true 4* quality. I saw where someone had actually taken a 8 inch divot out of the fairway. I hadn't seen. That at a FL public golf course in quite a while. The practice facilities were outstanding. They had everything from an state of the art (out door) range to multiple areas for putting and chipping. Sure, there were areas on the course that were consistent with what you see at Florida public courses, but the Fairways were outstanding.
I was extremely pleased with the improvements I saw.
Great course! Below average staff
Course was great! Great conditions for the price! Though the staff made it feel like I was inconveniencing them. Expect for the bartender. Golf cart was given to me at 3 percent battery, when I went to return it to get a new one to start my round they acted like it was my fault.
Great Course
We were in Orlando and wanted to try somewhere new. I was bit a skeptical due to the price but would go back here in a minute. We Played on Wednesday in late May, we played 18 in 3.5 hours. Course was in great shape and the layout was nice, wasn't your flat up and down like some Florida courses. We played the whites but would probably do the blues next time, some of the holes were a little short. Everyone was very friendly, and pace was great. We paid $120 for 3 golfers including cart, start time was 7:33 but we were a little early and starter got us right out.
Great conditions - Difficult course
Course in great conditions even though the greens were just punched. Healed very quick. Course layout is narrow and more difficult than most in the Orlando area.

Free Range Balls
Good morning Joseph, Regarding your review, I first wish address the fact you brought up a racial aspect of being a "hispanic man and black man trying to enjoy a round of golf" with some inference that race was part of this situation, it was not...what was part of this situation was this. While you may be a 10 handicap, your partner was not and you are playing off the Black tees which you should not have been based upon your partners level of ability. To point we observed on #10 tee balls being hit directly left of the tee into a neighbors yard and your golf cart getting hit by one of the tee shot when it was parked right beside the tee ...you as a 10 handicap should have recognized that these were not the correct tees for him and while you may wish to hit off those tees, he should have moved up. The second point which gets to your comments about not holding up anyone as you were waiting for the groups in front of you. You being a 2-some we would expect you to keep up to a 4-some, what the issue was to the ranger/staff and groups behind you were your constant taking/making of videos, whether for personal enjoyment or for Social Media posting, doesn't matter, when your on the tee and the group is out of range you hit your shots and move to the next shot, you don't spend time taking/making videos as it is frustrating to players behind you to watch this when you should be out at your ball getting ready to hit the next shot. People have no issues with waiting for you to hit your next shot, but do have issues when shown a complete disregard for the etiquette of the game and common courtesy and respect for other players on the course to keep up with the group in front of you. Golf is a welcoming and inclusive game, what is missing today is the respect for others on the course and a sense of decorum and etiquette that is part of the game. All our staff was doing was speaking on behalf of the players behind you who were watching and waiting for you and your partner to keep up with the groups in front and play ready golf, there was no racial bias, there was no golf ability bias there was simply an expectation of respecting others and the golf course. I fully expect you to not return to Rio Pinar because of how you perceived you were treated and that is unfortunate because, as you can read from other reviews, this is a fine golf course, in very good shape with friendly staff and we do provide a very good experience for the money spent...but we do have expectations of our Members and Guests.
