Fun facility
Course is pretty good but all of the other stuff available is excellent.
A little rough right now
I like the course very much, but it's current condition is a little suspect. They are punching the greens next week so maybe it will improve. Normally a very good experience though.
Once a muni gem, now part of the muni garbage
Been a big fan of Dobbo for some time - played it this weekend for Memorial Day Monday - had a 5.5 hour round; a now standard practice at Dobson Ranch.
The tee times are just not spread apart well & the marshalls simply don't do enough of a good job to promote better pace of play - an issue that has now been going on for at least a few years.
To add insult to injury, the conditions just simply are not great - it even rained yesterday and the conditions were fair at best.
Here is my suggestion to Dobson: spread out tee times at least 12 minutes, MODERATE YOUR PRICES!!!! You are not an elite golf course; you market yourself as a friendly & affordable muni and you continue to charge outrageous prices for a sub-par conditioned course with 5+hour rounds MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
Don't be fooled by the reviews
I booked this course because of the positive reviews. Unfortunately, from the tee boxes to the greens, the course was in TERRIBLE condition. Why hit your ball in the fairway when you end up playing off dirt? The greens were fried and horrible to putt on. I would not recommend this course unless you can play for $20.
Only one complaint food and beverage/beer ridiculously priced.
Better than most
Pleasant round, considering the heat. The course is understandably dry, which led to some long shots and a few putts going long (despite aeration greens putted true.) Would def play again.
Very nice course with new upgrades
They have new carts with GPS, new patio with a food truck, new mini golf course, and upgraded driving range.
Disappointing
Course was really dry, greens bumpy and sand traps thin
Friendliest course in az
Dobson Ranch has quickly become one of my favorite places to play and practice. The course has a fun layout, good vibes, and it’s a great spot whether you’re trying to get better or just get out for a solid round with friends.
The staff is a big part of what makes the place stand out. Big shoutout to Colin and Andrew specifically. Both of them have always been helpful, easy to talk to, and genuinely seem like they care about people having a good experience out there. That kind of stuff makes a difference.
Overall, Dobson has a really good balance of being laid back but still well-run. The range, the course, and the atmosphere all make it a place I actually want to keep coming back to. Definitely recommend it.
Great day at Dobson!
I had a great day at Dobson yesterday. The staff was amazing including the gentleman that played in our group, who is also an employee. Rest of the group was awesome as well. The condition of the course was great and the one and only issue that we had was the group ahead of us playing like sloths which in return kept us from finishing our round. Thinking about buying a players card.
