Dobson Ranch Golf Course

Dobson used to be my regular spot, but it’s been very disappointing this year. Prices have significantly increased and the course is in worse shape than it was previous years. Not sure why that is. there are large sections of both overgrown weeds and mud with no grass at all throughout the fairways and rough. The greens were aerified weeks ago and still haven’t recovered. Not to mention how difficult it is to get a tee time here. To top it off, the Marshall was rude and pushed us several times even though we finished 9 in 2hrs and 18 in 4hrs 2 minutes, with no one pushing behind us.

Staff is the friendliest and most welcoming in the entire valley. The golf course may be a "little" rough due to the summer heat, yet is still one of best layouts in the valley of " the sun". I am most fortunate to call this golf course my "Home" course!

Considering the location, smeltering AZ, the course and facility is excellently good for golf with staff and management most welcoming…as a Mesa resident, the playing deal was exceptional, thank you…can’t wait for winter!

The staff are always super friendly at Dobson Ranch. Unfortunately, this course hasn't done all with the summer heat wave we're experiencing. Fairways and tee boxes are very patchy and they have some foreign grasses taking over. The greens were not bad, but have been better. Maybe wait until the fall and the course can come back a little. Again, staff and range are always awesome!

Finally got to play Dobson again, with living out West of Phienix it's a long drive to Mesa. But was looking forward to see the driving range and the new merchandise from GOOD GOOD at the Ranch. Course was average for July, with Arizona having our hardest Summer heat from June. I can't imagine how hard it's to take care of everything on the course. Still loving the challenge of Dobson Greens, still was rolling great. All and all great round, got pair up with some amazing Golfers. The a bitter pill to swallow at check in staff in the morning, an employee just bickering about customers and accused myself showing up late with their group. I wasn't part of their group nor I showed up late. It's okay to vent, just might want to wait till customers can't hear.

Slightly cooler day but still pretty much a death march on the last 5 holes. Course is in excellent shape...a real surprise given our awful July. Greens rolling very good, tee boxes fine, some bare patches out in the fairways. And as always, an outstanding Dobson Burger to finish things up. Still one of the best deals in the valley.

Group in front was slow and pace wasn’t great, but course in solid shape for summer and good value

I understand the summer heat but it looks like the money is being spent on the driving range and not on the course. Anytime you have an abundance of ants it tells me the course is not healthy. Weeds or scalped area all around the greens. Will not play again until Course is better maintained.

Greens were good. Service at the 19th hole was excellent.

The improvements that have been made at this course are making Dobson Ranch a "go to" destination for the local golfer AND their families. KUDOS!!

The sand traps were more like dried mud than sand. the rough and tees needed to be mowed some areas had 4-5 inches of grass. Fairways had areas with very little grass. Greens were ok, but had many areas of dead or dormant grass on the fringes.

None of the water drinking fountains on the course worked.

Booked a hot deal for me and a friend. Was his 1st time playing Dobson Ranch. Afternoons in July are a bit much for him. Said, he can’t wait to play again in October ⛳️😜

Incredible staff and ownership here, fun layout and the best driving range around with toptracer!

I used to play dobson ranch all the time when I lived closer. It's a well laid out course with challenging holes but also plenty of getable holes. Greens were pretty rough, to be expected in az summer, but there was alot of small rocks and pebbles that really were an issue most of the day.

Over the last few years they have updated their facilities, especially the driving range, which is great for fun and beginners. My biggest issue with the course comes from incident I had when playing my latest round after a 5-6 year hiatus from playing this course. The listed prices were, $24 dollars for a ranch card holder, $34 for a Maricopa resident, and $44 for non residents. I selected the $34 dollar option but when arriving at the course they initially charged me $49!!! I complained about the error and was granted a refund, however I was immediately approached by a random player on the driving range before the round and he told me that the same issues has happened to him multiple times. Overall not bad for a cheaper course but felt pretty uneasy about the issues with the staff.

Really disappointed in how much bare dirt are in the fairways, weeds on the tee boxes, etc. With all that said the greens are still in pretty good shape and doesn't have nearly as many dead patches. Greens are still very challenging.
