Terrific M-Th value
This place rocks. Management Company must be congratulated. They have transformed this previously "tired" course into a vibrant on and off course experience. The staff is also amazing! Everyone is incredibly friendly. Now if they would just bring their beverage cart prices into some semblance of reasonableness it would be near perfect.
$7.00 for a beer which includes a $1. Ranch Card discount! I won't be drinking any beer on that course again.
They are obviously entitled to charge whatever they think that they can get. And I am obviously entitled to not buy anything. Nuff said. The course is outstanding.
Good value, good local course
The course is holding up during the summer for the most part. A few of the fairways were dying off in certain parts. Greens and tee boxes were kept up well. Staff is friendly. The beverage cart doesn’t get to you until hole 9 typically which is always a disappointment.
Best Value in the Valley
This course is hands down the best value in the valley. Course is in good condition. Especially given the hot temps. The pace of play was great. Staff great.
Overall good first experience
We were the first group following a tournament and we were waiting a few minutes between holes, other than that it was a great time!
Great course, tough greens
The course was in relatively great shape for this far into June. You can see crews planting new trees and shrubs throughout the course which shows they are investing in the property. The only downside was the speed of the greens, they were quick! The course layout is great, good mix of lengthy holes and reachable par 3’s. Great course for just about anyone. Dobson Ranch is my go-to course when I want to play golf.
Everything was great except..
The interaction with the Marshall. Our group consisted of 2 men’s 1 senior and my self. On hole 4. he came up to us on the tee box waited while the men both teed off then told us we had one minute to be off the hole. The group behind us was still on the tee box of hole 3, he said if we weren’t playing on pace it wasn’t fair to the groups at 1pm. It’s was Monday on the hottest day of the year. He then proceeded to follow us the next few holes. As a women who always ends up teeing off last. It was an incredible uncomfortable and unnecessary amount of pressure than I just skipped holes to appease him. Not once in the entire round did the group behind us even come close to being held up.
This is the second time I have played the course and had the same issue. Last time, I was put with a group of 3 (1 incredibly slow) men and the pressure to play faster came at the tee box where of course I was the last to tee off. I hadn’t came back to Dobson for 2 years after that experience.
With that being said, the pro shop staff are tremendous! But if you are a woman looking to get a round in at a reasonable time of day and you don’t have your own foursome chose another course.
Fairways beat, greens okay
Only play here for value and accessibility. Not a big fan of course. Pro shop kinda rude & lame
Not what it used to be 🤨
I have been playing Dobson Ranch for over 40 years and it is in sorry shape for summer conditions, quite dry and under-watered everywhere very sad definitely not a 4 star rating
Could use some grass
Greens were okay but around the fairways was a little love.
Summer Golf=dead grass
We like this course but…now it’s summer and most of the courses look horrible! Lots of dead fairways and playing on hard dead grass. They had recently plugged and aerated so they had the guys out with multiple leaf blowers blowing off the plugs! So until those were gone we had to play through the plugs x 3 holes! This made a mess of the greens so those were bumpy! Bunkers in the desert are never sand-go figure! Probably won’t play at this course for awhile until it perks up a bit!
Great practice range and a playable course
The course is in great summer shape and a good value for the money. Beware of the winding canal through the course but there is plenty of room and no goofy holes.
Pace was slow , burned out area but still a good day
Ranger needs to be more active…sitting in the shade does not keep the pace of play moving along. Open holes should never be allowed.
Green: in good shape and very consistent. They even held your ball on the green when you went for the flag.
Fairways: burnt in a lot of areas
Fringe: lots of pellets from aeration
Sand traps: rough…crispy. Need to be power raked
Rough: thin in some areas but not unfair
Staff: helpful and friendly
It was a good day.
Good Value
Was happy with pace of play and the course for the money
Mediocre
The pro shop staff were very rude and one even refused to help ring customers out even though there was a line claiming he was “busy”.
All other staff were nice and friendly.
Conditions were fair, but fairways on some holes are in serious need of work.
Greens were challenging but fun.
Pace of play was great, not sure if that’s more due to summer months though.
Always a good track
Dobson never disappoints. Greens, tee boxes, rough, bunkers, and most fairways are solid. A few of the fairways are dying off a bit. Overall always a great track to play. Played in just under 4 hours.
