About
Southern Ridge Golf Club, formerly known as Bougainvillea Golf Club, offers some of the most stunning views anywhere in the valley. The South and Estrella Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to the golf course. Southern Ridge is known for more than its views though, it has a unique layout that combines six par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s. The championship course plays to 6,751 yards. It offers a good amount of length for long hitters but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners thanks to generous fairways and large, undulating greens. Although the fairways are wide, don't be lulled into a sense of security. They are flanked with more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are enough challenges for an interesting round but it's not an overly difficult golf course.

Getting better
The new management has already done many things to improve the course and clubhouse. This becoming a good value for the money.
Good day of Golf
Greens are challenging. Fairways had a number of dry patches but overall played well. Enjoyed our round and will return.

Poor condition
Fairways have little to no grass. Very poor condition and should be shut down.

6 par 3's,4's,5's
I liked the idea of 6 each par 3,4,&5's lets you play more long shots.The greens are a little rough & the fairways have some dead spots but if you play winter rules and bump the ball to a green patch fairways are good also wide.

Fairways are becoming barren!!!
Course is in terrible shape! Fairways have many, many bare spots! Appears to require a lot of clean up along fairways. Don't know if course is under some sort of construction, but there are quite a few mounds of dirt! I played this course late last year after winter grass was planted & found course to be in good shape. It is nowhere near that level as it appears a LOT of the winter grass has become barren!

This Course has Fair Greens
The Course would be nice if it didn't have so many standing puddles of water and mud throughout the course. The course needs a lot of work and more ball cleaners. I do like the new divot dispensers available at the Tee's.

day after rain
they have removed trees and graded the course since we last played here 6-7 months ago..... it rained heavily the night before so it was cart path only and the low areas were wet or puddles.... the greens and fairways were excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful..... would have been super on a sunny dry day....

Not in very good condition.
I have played this course many times in the past when it was Bouganvilla and always enjoyed playing. When we played the course on 12-23-15 it was not in good shape. Most of the fairways were covered in dead grass and contrary to what the desk employee said, the green were horrible. I normally play close to home at The Falcon Club but no openings until noon and we wanted to play earlier. I understand why. If you are not interested in your play or what your scores are, play this course. Very difficult to enhance your game with poor course conditions. They need to lower the price to match the course condition.

Not As Advertised.
We were a little disappointed. There were current course renovations going on and perhaps that effected our thoughts on the whole course. The greens were fast and challenging. The staff were friendly. Not a great deal by going online as the regular cost of a round is posted at $29.00. Online, the cost is $30.00. Basically, we saved the taxes. I would suggest, the regular rates be posted on the Golf Now forum and we can then make a more knowledgeable decision.

Good play for the money.
This is an average golf course with the typical forgiving fairways and bunker protected greens.A fun course and with rates at around $20.00 it is a good value.

Good value for the money...
always love playing here, not a TPC type course but still a fun place to play. Greens are in good shape, fairways are green and lush. Some tough par 3 s, 180-190 range are always hard for me. would reccommend....

Awesome Staff
We've played this course quite a few times. The cost is always tough to beat and even though the summer conditions are fair I will vouch that the winter conditions are downright right fantastic, especially for the price. The course throws plenty of challenges at you to include undulating greens and some fairly long par 4s from the tips. You better miss on the right side on quite a few holes. On my last view I'm pretty sure I forgot to bring my brain because I forgot my golf clubs at home and they pushed my tee time up to allow time to get them without charging me extra. That's classy! To top that off, we didn't purchase the lunch special but they gave it to us anyhow and that brat was delicious! Many courses could learn from the management and cordiality of this staff. Stay classy Southern Ridge! Will be back...many, many more times.

Best Value wish it was on the East valley! (closer to me)
I love this place it is not the most challenging course but it is the best value in phx, when winter prices are here! Greens run true. Over conditions are above average when taking price into consideration. I play this course once a week in winter if it were closer I'd play more! On the turn the they have an amazing TURKEY SANDWICH!

Fun Course to play
I have fun playing any course for the most part but I truly liked playing this course both times I have played it and Will be playing it again Saturday. It is wide enough to forgive and also enough of hazzard if you go to wide, I like the 6 par 3 6 par 4 and 6 par 5 layout...price is perfect
