About
Southern Ridge Golf Club, formerly known as Bougainvillea Golf Club, offers some of the most stunning views anywhere in the valley. The South and Estrella Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to the golf course. Southern Ridge is known for more than its views though, it has a unique layout that combines six par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s. The championship course plays to 6,751 yards. It offers a good amount of length for long hitters but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners thanks to generous fairways and large, undulating greens. Although the fairways are wide, don't be lulled into a sense of security. They are flanked with more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are enough challenges for an interesting round but it's not an overly difficult golf course.

Great Value
Southern Ridge was a great value for the price. Keep the ball in play and you can really have a great round of golf. Fairways and greens were is good condition.Greens were putting really true.The staff was cordial and friendly.

fairways in poor condition - played last year and it was ok so not sure what is going on - greens small but alright.
Still Overwatering the Course
Course is in pretty good condition, but they continually overwater leaving wet spots in the fairway and don't even think of landing your shot just short of the green and expecting it to roll on. They are so wet I had two shot plugged. Staff great food good.

Good value
They continue to make improvements to the property. Greens are good, may need rolling, because they are a little slow for my liking. Fairways are full and green. Down the road, may need to spruce up waste areas to be more pleasing to the eye to attract serious golfers. On some holes,,they have room to move tees back to lengthen the course, only around 6750 from back tees.
Really, the only knock I have, the fairways seem to be overwatered....mud on the cart paths, water standing in low areas of the course..on the upside, if you get out early, you can have a quick round.
Beautiful day for Golf.
This was our first time playing this course. I had been advised that it was a dump but found it to the contrary. The fairways were in good condition and the greens were not only in great condition but were some of the most consistent greens I have ever played. They are challenging due to a great deal of undulation and you almost never have a straight putt. I will definitely play this course again and will recommend it to friends.

The course was extremely poor in all respects. Poor condition. Uninspiring layout. No aesthetics at all. Ghetto course in all aspects.
bad sportsmanship
We had a foresome behind us that was yelling for us to speed up when we were keeping pace with the group in front of us. They were yelling profanities at us and I have never been so distrot because of this. These people had other carts as they were probably members. I will never play this course again as the Members must be crude and rude. We played this course in 4 hr. and 15 min.
Southern Ridge Dec 2014
Pro shop staff was friendly and called groups to tee in timely manner. No starter to be seen. Course conditions were mostly muddy, bring towels to clean ball as course did not have enough grass or water collected with poor run-off. Course is pretty plain (flat) while there are 6 par 3's, 4's and 5'a all the holes are somewhat identical for distance and most are straight with very little doglegs.
Great value for the money
Friendly staff, disappointed there were no ball washers on any hole. Met up with a couple who lived close to us in bc, Canada. Very pleasant round. Clubhouse was closed when we finished, so no food service ( disappointed in that, but understandAble as it was the us thanksgiving) would definitely come back. Course was in decent condition, great value for the money!
The course need maintenance
The course need maintenance everywhere , green are good but fairways and cart path were in poor conditions. It's not expensive but it doesn't worth more.

Great day for golf and the course was in wonderful shape.

A hidden gem - try it!
A nice course and a bargain with an online tee time. Plus we were able to play quickly - less than 3 1/2 hours. Wow! The rough is a little scruffy (a few areas with branches down need to be cleaned up) but the fairways and greens were in great shape. The course is fair and challenging for men and women, and the staff members are super friendly. I really recommend this course and will definitely play it again soon.
