Southern Ridge Golf Club

The management team has done a great job of turning this course around, played here about three years ago. We enjoyed the mix of the three each par 3, 4 and 5's but the course was a little neglected, Course is in great shape greens were well established after the overseeding.

Please don't play here. I want the course to myself!

Course just coming out of over seeding. Greens were smoth and true. New ownership has worked hard to make the course better.

Just played it on 10/22/2013. Cart were 90 degrees but fairways are good. Greens slow but this is normal. Play it now.

Hard to find your way around the course. Lack of signage, and some covered up by bushes.
No ball washers.
Score card is misprinted. Holes 10-18 on first page 1-9 on second.
Still listed as Bouganvilla (spelling) on app.

The guys at the club house were less than friendly, the driving range was dirt with no real markers, the course was change so the old 10th tee box was now the first tee box. This was a problem because the club house couldn't see it and continued sending groups to tee off even though there was a back up (3 foursomes @ 6:50 am). No rangers to keep the slower groups moving and the finishing hole wasn't nearly as nice as it used to be. Since it was now the 9th hole. All in all the new ownership has there work cut out for them. Fortunately it was only 20.00 to play and there is a ton of room for improvement. Can't wait until it all come together.

Even though the staff mentioned that the couse was scalped due to overseeding on the 30th, we found it in better shape than any other course under the same conditions. The price was right for the reduced grass and it was a lot of fun to play, The greens were terrific. Not a bald spot among them.
I would recommend this course for sure!

The employees were super friendly and helpful. Made you want to come back again. Food included w/the round was delicious, and we had a good selection to pick from. Beer was cold, very inexpensive. Course was green and lush, very unusual for a Phoenix area course in summertime. Grass was cut to perfect length, and greens held chips. Can't wait to go play there again.

I enjoyed playing there for the price and the only problem I had was the mosquitoes

Very fun course to play on for new golfer such as myself. The only complaint I have is the lack of water inside the ball washers; there was no water.

I have been playing this golf course for a few years, and the staff has been great. But my last experience was totally distasteful! My tee time (one person, pre-paid) was for 10:00 and I arrived at 12:30. The Staff proceeded to reprimand and admonish me about my time, that I was taking away someone else's tee time?????? I pre-paid??? And I am taking away someone's golf experience?? Huhh I am making you loose money?? Wasn't like the course was crowded....

I had given up up on this course the last time I played over a year ago. I really hoped, that since the new name and attention it would be as nice as it used to be several years ago....but sadly, no. You can see that there is an effort to improve but they have long way to go. The overall feel of the course is not asthetically pleasing. Dirt/ weeds/ standing water / etc makes it un-enjoyable. The fair ways are still a patchwork of weeds and bermuda. The greens while playable are slow. Traps are un-maintained. Water hazards are gross ponds. Much more care and attention is still needed for this course to complete with the others in the area.

The bunkers were over grown and not maintained at all. The fairways were full of bald spots. The greens were bumpy and had bald areas also very slow. The driving range was down and is in need of an extensive over haul. The only good thing was the prices in the snack bar.

I've only played this course twice and both times it drizzled at least halfway through. There's a lot of areas under a bit of water but we navigated with no real problems. The fairways and greens were in better shape than last time and the few times I was in a bunker the sand was in good shape as well. Still needs work trimming the rough to make it separate from the fairways.
Will for sure play this course again.

I needed to be on the Southwest side of town and I hadn't played the course in years so I thought I would give it a try. You know when they say " If it looks too good to be true it is" they were right on this one. They offered a round of golf and lunch for $21.00 with tax included. The course had more dirt patches than I could count and the greens rolled about seven. The lunch didn't include a drink (A hot dog or sandwich and a bag of chips). Don't try paying with American Express they don't take the card.

Pretty nice course consisting of 6 par 3's, 4's and 5's. The quality of this course has noticably increased since they changed to Southern Ridge. Fairways and rough are in better condition and the greens are coming around. The only thing that was missing was a proper driving range. last time i was there, they still didn't acquire the land yet. But improvements have been made and it definitely is better than previous times that i have been there

This course is a straight-forward course without a lot of trouble to get into. Good for the mid to high handicap player who can hit a bad shot and still have a play on the ball.
