About
Southern Ridge Golf Club, formerly known as Bougainvillea Golf Club, offers some of the most stunning views anywhere in the valley. The South and Estrella Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to the golf course. Southern Ridge is known for more than its views though, it has a unique layout that combines six par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s. The championship course plays to 6,751 yards. It offers a good amount of length for long hitters but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners thanks to generous fairways and large, undulating greens. Although the fairways are wide, don't be lulled into a sense of security. They are flanked with more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are enough challenges for an interesting round but it's not an overly difficult golf course.

Typical AZ course, worth playing with a Golfnow deal, or at off-peak rate
First time playing here. Putting greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape, fairways were average. Surrounding areas of fairways were rough and very unforgiving. Staff actually marshalled playing times. Course recently renovated, hopefully it will be kept up.
New management going the right direction
Driving Range needs much needed overhaul!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty good course for $25 and a cart
Anything off the fairway was pretty rough. But the greens were kept in very nice condition and although it wasn't overly challenging it did provide a nice round, especially for the price of $25.
Nice course .Great price.
We needed a round to get us back into golf after 4 months of winter. This was perfect for that. Nice straight fairways. The fairways and greens were in good condition but the rough was all weeds and hard sand. I guess that's what rough is. But we had a good round. We'd come back. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Not bad
The rough was rough, mostly weeds. The fairways and greens were plenty nice. We had a 3-some in front of our foursome that held us up quite often; I think they stopped and watched you tube videos for each shot! Other than a 4.5 hour round it was fantastic.
overall good, needs a few upgrades
The course itself was nice to play, good greens, forgiving fairways. The little things need attention: ball washers, distance markers. cart exit signs. Driving range was under repair. I will play there again.

apparent that the course was negleted but that it is now being cared for and is being brought back into good condition.
No two holes look alike
Very enjoyable to play. It has 6 par 5s,3s and 4s. The course plays pretty fast because there is very little trouble for the high handicap golfer to get into.
Course condition was abysmal.
Course nothing more than the cottonfield surrounding it. "Scenic" area is a misnomer. Greens were pitted and bumpy. Play was very slow due to non-golfers all over the course and no pace of play monitoring.
What you pay is what you get
Decent all around. Greens a little slow but in good shape. Fairways good. No over seed in rough, just dormant grass. Desert areas rock/sand not just dirt. Type in old course name or address to find with GPS. New name not in Ford or Garmin GPS
Great course for the price.
Course was great for the price. 6 Par 3's, 6 Par 4's and 6 Par 5's made for a fun day! Fairways were not overseeded but did not impeed play. Greens in good condition and consistent. Staff extremely friendly.
Course is a good value and is getting in better shape all of the time
The course has been undergoing updates and is getting to be in good shape. Greens are good and sand traps are about average. This is a good course for those who play scratch or who have a high handicap. Staff is friendly and club house is fairly new and nice and clean. A good value!!
Nice course
I played this course on Sunday, 2/24/13. I enjoyed playing this course and want to come back and play it again. The fairways and greens were in good condition. I enjoyed the lush green grass, because I played 3 other courses this week and this course had the best greens and fairways. Staff was super friendly. Great day of golf.

it was fun and priced great for the time of year, but the course wasn't anything special. but was still in good condition. and a nice place to play. prolly closer to a 3 1/2 star.
Freindly atmosphere and great value
Very freindly staff and reasonably priced golf. The course needs work, but the greens and the greenside bunkers are very good shape.

Much better than a couple of years ago!
Booked this course not knowing it was the old Bouganvillea. Was not thrilled when I found out. That said the new management has made some very noticable improvements. The greens were in good shape and the fairways green. They had some bare spots in the fairways but you could really see some effort has been made. The club house has been spruced up and the staff was very friendly. They need to work on some of the bunkers but given the cost 35.00 dollars and the fun layout we will likley return.

Moderately challenging course. Good shape for this time of year. A bit of a distance for me in the east valley, but worth the reasonable rates. driving range wasn"t open, but chipping/putting facilities were sufficient for my warmup.
The staff seem to be working at getting this course into shape
Greens very slow but some work seems to have been done to improve them and this will pay off soon hopefully fairways generally in poor condition and bunkers have as much weed as sand in them !
